We used baby oil and that kept it at bay but not rid of it. Then while getting jabs Dr gave us a prescription for Miconazole cream and the CC was gone and not returned.

the neutrogena t shampoo was suggested by my dr and it works, just use a tiny tiny amount. I tried the olive oil repeatedly, it didn't work. The Mustela stelaker lotion is brilliant and non-oily, so didn't stain clothing, bedding etc. Only used it a few times and cleared it up completely. I didn't like the ingredients in the other pharmacy solutions.

1/4 cup olive oil and 15 drops tea trea oil seems to work nicely. Olive/almond oil. Leave it on to soften the cradle crap then gently comb it. Pumpkino - we tried everything on our little ones cradle cap, then I ran into a lovely lady in a shop and she was told by her 'aunty' just to put petroleum jelly on the cradle cap over night and it worked for her. So I tried it but we had Tui Balm so I used that then combed the hair/head backwards the next morning and it was all lifted off and stayed away!!!

Anyway sorry for the long winded response but it was someones old school remedy and it worked so thought I would pass it on.

I agree with myfullhouse 100%!!! best thing I have found so far is olive oil. Both of my kids had/have cradle cap, and I just rubbed olive oil onto their scalps half an hour before bathtime, then combed and washed off in the bath. Tried all the expensive treatments like mustela, with no luck. Can anyone recommend a good cradle cap shampoo that can be used preventatively as well as for treatment?

In the UK we used Dentinox but when I sent my husband to the pharmacy just now the pharmacist said they didn't have anything similar (they googled it to check the active ingredients). The only thing they had to treat cradle cap was a lotion that is obviously really strong as you have to be careful not to put it on any non-affected areas. I'm reluctant to use it on a newborn's scalp even if he had bad CC. DS2 is 6 weeks old and it's not that bad, but I can see it starting to come through and want to knock it on the head.

I did a search and found a post about something slightly different but there was mention of shampoos, although not by name, so I'm sure there are some out there.
