I didn't have any problems after lil miss tho, so while having had it once does increase the odds of having it again, it's not a given.

I've had the jab all three times, and will most likely have it again with this bub as I've now had 2 consecutive postpartum hemorrhages, and I agree with the others, it didn't make it any more painful. If anything, it was better as the placenta was delivered sooner than if I'd not had the jab.

The placenta looked whole but obviously wasn't. It took 2 weeks of agonising cramps, passing clots and bleeding for it to be finally figured out and I ended up going into hospital for a D&C.

This time, my midwife said I am likely to get it again and I am SO SCARED! She said I'll have a controlled 3rd stage, where she'll inject me to make my uterus contract and it will be 'very painful'.

Does anyone else have experience with retained placenta the 2nd time around? I need reassurance!!!
