Well only just found this forum, I'm due with my little man on the 10th of May - although if anything like my daughter (who is also a May baby) he will make his presence known sooner.
I'm in a tough spot right now, single mum already and soon to be single mum to 2. Trying to be as positive as possible, but find it a little hard to be excited sometimes. So tired!
My little girl turns 5 in May eeeek, and a baby due haha. Hi May Mammas!  Just thought I'd pop in here and say hi.  My wee boy was due end of March, but I ended up having him end of December!  Anyway, there's ended up being a few of us from the March 2013 group that have met our wee bundles earlier then expected, so we figured that chances are it'll happen to other groups too - so we've started up a support forum on here - just listed under preemie babies.  Just thought I'd let you know incase anyone needs someone in a similar situation to talk to.

A friend put the fear into me today as I am 6 months and have not bought anything other than a cot and change table - no clothes, nothing.. I undrestand exactly what you're going through Perky. We are renovating our house and have walls already knocked down but can't rebuild or relocate the bathroom and kitchen as planned until the council give consent. At this rate works aren't likely to begin until January and so it'll be a fine timeline as to whether they're finished before bubs arrives. Hi everyone.

I'm new here. First baby due May 13 and a friend suggested I join OhBaby. We're currently in Chch but moving to Wanaka at the end of Feb (29 weeks) so keen to meet up with any mums in the Wanaka area. We're also building a house that alas won't be finished in time for bubs and i don't fancy living in the barn with a newborn! So were going to be doing a few juggling acts with rental places so that I can have a kitchen and laundry. Nothing like doing everything all at once!!

Looking forward to our anatomy scan in 2 weeks and were going to find out if its blue or pink. We're actually going to get the technician to write it down on a card and place it in an envelope for Xmas day. We figured it would be a nice surprise seeing as Xmas is only a week after our scan.

Nervous and excited as only just starting to look at nursery furniture and have no idea where to start with baby clothes....arrgghhh!!

From looking through the MANY pages of forum posts, it looks like there is a private forum. Oh the GC would of been so nice to relax ans soak up the sun :)
Symptoms come and go all the time, they have for me and always a few days before a scan which freaks you out even more going to it!!
I had my 12 week scan yesterday and everything was great, one very cute little bub hanging out in there :) was so awesome!

Very excited, booked our official nuchal scan for next friday i should be 13 weeks 2 days according to our scan last week. i wish i could post pics but sadly cant put them on computer coz no way of doing it and cant put on fb yet :(

Hey LadyBee, I will PM the admin, and no I'm not getting a scan at 12 weeks, I had a dating scan at 8 weeks and it was fine, but I'll wait until the 20 weeks for the next. I'll know at my midwife app at 12 weeks if they can hear the heartbeat, if not then I'll go for a scan. But have had a MC in the past so I'm a little wary. So sad to hear Youngin, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm freaking out a bit at the moment with my morning sickness has almost gone, which is weird for me. I usually have it so bad but the last 10 days its been not bad at all. I'm praying everything is OK will go to the midwife at 12 weeks and hopefully hear the heartbeat.

Also hoping to buy van this week, we're thinking an Estima, does anyone recommend any others? We want a 7 seater but with wide seats for carseats. So we'll see.

And does someone want to set up the private forum, I'm not sure if I can do it as I'm not a senior member, but I think Angiebaby will organise it for us. As I'm not that keen on the FB Forums, and we can share just what we want on the OB private one, like photos, etc.

Any1 had fibroid on their uterus while preg?? - im getting checked for this as my uterus is measureing 16weeks when i was only 10wk 6days :/

I had mine yesterday and everything was looking great. Our little monkey was being so wriggly and wouldn't stop moving - it was so cute! Measurements were bang on for 12 weeks so that was great. Sorry to hear that you are having a bit of bleeding youninin but as your MW has said to you I'm sure everything will be just fine. I know plenty of people who have had bleeding throughout their pregnancies, at times very heavy, and everything has turned out fine! When does your uterus start popping out of the pelvis?
I have my fist MW appointment next week Im hoping she will try and find the heartbeat otherwise I will be tempted to buy a doppler to hear it myself

I think my uterus has a tendency to lean backwards so that might explain why I don't feel it very early.

Fiwi mum - oh no! I hate lurkers that figure out it may be someone they know and take it off forum, it would be fine if they let you know they suspect and kept it a secret with you, but most are not that tactful :(

Peaches - if drinking V makes you happy, then why not. I have been craving it (haven't had one in over 2 years!) but have restrained myself so far, but I did have souvlaki with salad and a yoghurt sauce - naughty, but amazing!!

Yeh Peaches that's why they look at my cervix too, they just don't have to do an internal to do it.

I think it's more the other ingredients in V rather than just the caffeine that make it high risk but if you're happy to drink it that's your call. They have to do it because of my colposcopy and biopsy history to make sure I don't need a suture to hold my cervix closed.

As long as I only have a small can every now and then I don't see a problem with V its the same as having a couple of coffees a day (which I don't drink) being the 5th I'm a bit more relaxed with food etc this time around. I know what's a no no and whats ok. Yay for having your scan booked Peaches. It seems weird that they have to do an internal to check your cervix. They measure mine each time I have a scan as they have to monitor it closely and they do it fine without having to do an internal. Maybe they will change their minds if they get a good clear shot on the external one.

Sorry to hear your MS is still pretty bad, I hope it gets better soon. I would be careful drinking V when preggy though. I am biased because I think those drinks are poison anyway and would never touch them but don't forget they contain caffeine amongst other things that should be limited at the very least. I believe they have also been known to raise the baby's heart rate really high so I would stay clear if you can.

Scan booked in for 4th Nov, have left it as late as possible just in case my dates are wrong which I doubt. They have to do an internal scan also to check the length of my cervix I'm more concerned about that than anything else :(

MS is still pretty bad but for some reason V helps????? weird.

I hope those with it also start feeling better real soon, it can really get you down especially if you are vomiting so much being tired doesn't help either. Awww it's a shame that your confidence has been rattled Hayley but I can understand why you are reluctant to take your other children as even any minor issues could be difficult to explain. Hopefully you can get it all on DVD and show them on the TV at home which will be exciting for you all!
