During the night, you need to interact with your baby completely differently than during the day. Don't talk to her, look at her etc. Also, are you using a night light or ensuring the room is not too bright when you attend to her? The room should be as dark as possible during the night, but just bright enough for you to see what you're doing.

He usually settles and falls back asleep when feeding him, but the past 3 nights he can be fast asleep after a feed and when i put him back in his cot he wakes back up and he has decided it is time to start the day at 5.30! So end up putting him in bed with us! I am hoping this is just a faze he is going through. I will try leaving him in his cot as Lyds has suggested and see if this helps :)

You can put 'em down and shush 'em all you like, but to not much avail! Not to say it's not a great technique if it works for you, but if it doesn't it's unlikely you're doing something wrong

Then when it's time to really start the day, make a big fuss of her, lots of smiles etc. She's been awesome ever since we've done that, back to sleep pretty much immediately. I found that taking her to our bed just made her more excited about being awake, rather than helping her (and me!) get back to sleep. Good luck!

I keep her in bed with me if I put her back in her bed she wakes up. Also I found trying to pop in an extra feed in the day helps my baby sleep through longer. If that doesn't work, maybe try going to bed at the same time occasionally to get some rest :)

My daughter does the same thing (although admittedly it's 5.30ish here), and had times when she'd do it when she was younger too. Changing her bedtime doesn't seem to have helped, so I just tend to live it out. It doesn't last forever, thankfully!
