So does the nearer one when you first put it on. There is an element of forcing it - there is some overlap like you say but you can do it in such a way that the back of the seat nearest you just pushes the hood of the further away seat forward slightly (but not the child). Once they are both on the pram you an recline the seat nearest you slightly (but only one click if you know what I mean) which you need to do with a small baby I find.

I tried, but the lower seat sort of rammed up into the higher seat back and would have made it uncomfortable for the baby in it. I know you can do it, so what did I get wrong?

The way the second seat attaches they aren't side by side but aren't on top of each other either - currently I have mine back to back (avoids squabbles lol) but you can have both facing forward, both rear facing or facing each other. Love that flexibility.

    Author: pumpkino
Subject: 43062
Posted: 18 February 2013 at 8:16pm

I have both (got bugaboo cameleon first, then got BJCS with second seat when DS2 came along) so can give you some comparisons.

The Bugaboo is a bit lighter and therefore easier to manoevre (although the difference is hardly noticeable) but a bit harder to fold/unfold, and a bit more awkward to fit in the boot of the car. The BJCS can be folded without taking the seat off and even if you take the seat off it's easier to fold/unfold the chassis than the bugaboo.

I really hate the shopping basket on the bugaboo. It can hardly hold anything and it is really hard to get stuff in and out when there's a seat or bassinet on it. The shopping basket on the BJCS is awesome - really big and easy access.

The bugaboo is obviously much more expensive although if buying second hand that's probably not such a big deal.

The bugaboo can't convert to a double (at least our one can't, I think the newer ones can if you get the donkey but you might struggle to find one second hand).

If I was doing over with our first child I would just get the BJCS, so that then I just had to get the second seat for a second child. Yes the bugaboo is slightly nicer in some ways but I don't think it's worth the difference in price. They look pretty similar and handle in almost the same way, plus I like the BJCS shopping basket more (that seems trivial but try going to the supermarket or doing other shopping with the bugaboo!!)

Umm that's all I can think of for now - did you have any specific questions??
