It's probably teething so just wait for it to go and then see if the situation improves. A night light can help as you want to make sure the room isn't too bright when you settle her down during the night, but if she has been sleeping through from 8 months, you seem to be doing things just fine!

Hope she gets her teeth soon and you get some more sleep

    Author: babygiraffe
Subject: 43141
Posted: 17 March 2013 at 10:37am

I have a nearly 14 month old daughter who lately has been waking up to twice in the night and early (around 4.30 - 5am) and is just beside herself. I can settle her during the night most of the times but not the early morning have resorted to her coming into our bed. But that's not ideal, I want her to stay in her own bed. 6am rise is not to much to ask is it?!?!
She has always been an excellent sleeper, from about 8 months old she would usually do 12 hours at night so these unsettled nights and early morning rises are a real sock to my system!
She is teething at the moment, getting 4 in one hit by the looks of it so I guess that is playing a huge part! But I also cant help but wander if she is a little freaked by the dark. 14 months old seems too young for her to associate the dark as being scary though?

What age did you introduce a night light and did it make a difference?
