Hi , It is a bit late for this person but I teach HypnoBirthing in Wairarapa area. Yes it certainly did work well and the labour was a hundred percent better than my first daughters. A lot quicker too although how much hypnobirthing had to do with that aspect I don't know lol LOL I think the trick to having it work is to believe it will work; start listening to the CDs early-ish, maybe the 3rd trimester and listen to them religiously. Although I didn't do the classes (too expensive)I did make sure I watched lots of peaceful births on YouTube and had supportive friends around me during pregnancy who'd had calm home births.
 
I should add- the actual birth didn't go well as my daughter had shoulder dystocia and got pretty stuck. The hypnobirthing went out the window at that point. However I can absolutely say that had her birth been straightforward then it really would have been amazing....and although not completely pain free, pretty damn close Smile

I purchased a program online called hypnobabies. I found it was really good prior to labour at keeping me calm and positive. It was also useful in the early stages of labour but then started to panic and it lost a little of its usefulness. It was also a useful tool when i ended up needing an emergency c-section. Yes I used it for my second baby and will use it for this baby too. I recommend getting hold of the book & CD (usually available on Trade Me) and going from there.
