I e-mailed Louise at the sleep store & she came back with some really good tips. He now goes down without crying & sleeps for about 1 & 1/2 hours at a time. You could try getting in touch with her. She has her own website but is also on Oh Baby under the ask the expert part.

When Briona was 6mos I would stay in her room, out of sight, and pat her tummy until she fell to sleep - to train her to go to sleep in her own bed. I mostly needed to do this because she had had reflux/colic for the first few months and had got used to being rocked to sleep all the time.

I read that at 6mos they are ready for a teddy bear or something familiar to go to sleep with, maybe you might want something that can go in his mouth lol

You don't seem to be having trouble at night times? What's the difference?

He maybe postponing sleep if something more interesting occurs.

A dummy often helps settle an unncomfortable tummy because suckling often temporarily reduces baby's discomfort.

My cousins baby does that all the time and she gave in so now when she puts him to sleep she stays with him and you dont want to fall into that habbit.

He shows us the tired signs so off to bed he goes but he kicks up the biggest of fusses and we have to go in 3 or 4 times to settle him down and its often an hour later. Usually it's never a problem he may natter away for a few minutes and then drift off but he just seems to be full on crying.

Does anyone have any suggestions or if they have been in this situation before?? Could this be separation anxiety??
