I used to get it several times a year, but I don't think I was that young. I used to have ice cream and lemonade, but maybe yoghurt and iceblocks are a good substitute! If you see a pattern to her getting it ask for them to be taken out. I had to wait till I was 16 and go privately to have mine taken out and I was getting it 3 or 4 times a year every year. At the moment midcentral is doing a lot for childrens health and once you finally see a specialist you have the op within 3 months, well we did with Andrew's ears.

I had lots of icecream and ice blocks and anything really that didn't hurt to swallow.

I can only speak from personal experience, but the antibiotics have always kicked in nice and quick for me. (I've had it 3 times!) I'd guess about 1-2 more days and she should be bright as a button again.
Ice blocks are great, yogurt and juice too, and if she gets sick of the sweet things spaghetti goes down easily too.
