Author: fiorey
Subject: 43794
Posted: 07 January 2014 at 7:36pm

My morning sickness was horrible too. All I wanted to do was sit and stare at the wall. Was always worse when I was at home, but rarely did I feel it at work... lucky because I am a teacher with primary aged kids! They must have kept me too busy to feel it! It helped too that I hadn't told anyone at work, so they weren't always asking me how I felt. Out of sight, out of mind worked for me.

My new puppy (the smell) was unfortunately my trigger. By the end of my MS even a picture of a cute puppy my husband showed me was enough to make me dash to the loo!

I drank a lot of water with lemon, and ate salt and vinegar chips. By the end of 12 weeks I was feeling fine again and full of energy, but this wasn't until after my final 'grand finale' at my sister n laws after telling her about the pup being my trigger... even talking about her made me sick!

I think that eating a little and often is meant to help. Lucky for me I was never put off my food, and the smell of a home cooked wintery meal from my mother n law always made me feel better.

I personally wouldn't want to take meds, as while I'm sure medicine has come a long way, I'm pretty sure I read about some horrible side effects/birth defects from drugs in past years. But like I said, I'm sure things have changed.

MS really is hideous, but I recommend just hanging in there. They say that the worse your morning sickness the stronger the baby!

As above Ondansetron is great Metoclopramide was average. Even taking meds didn't alleviate it completely for me . I found spicy food beneficial (obviously heartburn hadn't kicked in yet)chilli & wasabi and iceblocks. Pregnancy hormones are wonderful things hang in there hopefully your Morning sickness will pass soon.

I wouldn't say it's severe but I have almost constant nausea from the minute I get up in the morning until late in the evening. I've tried Blackmore's Morning sickness tablets, gingernuts, ginger beer, dry crackers, lemonade (flat and fizzy), sea bands and even Big Macs (my old hangover cure) and nothing much is helping anymore. Does anyone have any ideas? I've got to the point where I only feel ok if I'm lying or sitting still, which is fine while I'm on holiday but I go back to work next week. Help?
