Today went to return an item bought last week, unused, packaging not opened (as a change mat but too big for the cot). Was told by counter staff "No refund available, only a gift card or purchase another item". I disputed this strongly, and that I was entitled to a refund. I was told very clearly by two different staff "This is company policy". So I quoted Consumer Guarantees Act to them, explained their company policy is in fact illegal, and all of a sudden the "policy" changed and I got a full refund.

Totally underhand company policy intended to dupe the uninformed. Never buy from them again; and if they ever try this on you, make sure you tell them outright their policy is illegal.
