Maya was slow to gain weight in the beginning too, she never dropped below her birthweight but she only gained 45g in a week to start with. As long as Olivier isn't fussing and crying (or sleeping far too much) he's probably getting plenty. Maybe he's just destined to be small boned.

I feel your worry tho - when Maya was sick it was agony every time she was weighed I would be willing the scales to have gone up.

If he's been particularly grizzly lately I'd go with the extra feeds but if not, I wouldn't worry.

Just have to feed a little more frequently during the day and try to express some milk in between and top up. I managed to get my silly breast pump working too! Hopefully Ollie will start to put on more weight now - it is quite stressful because you want to make sure baby is getting enough from you and when it takes a little longer than expected it does worry you.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am a little stressed about it and wonder whether he is getting enough milk from me? He feeds and sleeps well and midwive checked that he latches on etc etc but still hasn't put much weight on. His birth weight was 6 pounds 8 ounces. I have been told to go and see a lactation specialist to see if there is something that I am not doing right or just need some more tips etc. I am a little frustrated because I have brought an electric breast pump and the blimmin thing is not working properly!
