our antenatal class midwife suggests carrying bubs around in a front pack = kind of like kangarooing to settle them...they sleep you can do stuff and all is calm? I went to Linda Caplin in Browns Bay, she specialises in cranial osteopathy for little bubbas, I took Erin to her at 6 weeks of age because her right shoulder was all bunged up... one treatment (about an hour), and 2-3 days later Erin was right as rain and had a full range of motion with her neck / head. Linda is lovely too, although she does charge $75 an hour, which I can understand might put some people off - was worth it for us though as it worked and we just needed the one session. So far...

She won't take a dummy! Which is prob a good thing cause Quinn keeps pinching them anyway!

Not sure re the colic/reflux thing, if anything I'd be inclined to say it would be more likely to be colic but having no experience of either I wouldn't have a clue! Guess we'll ask the professionals!

Lizzle: def trying the vacuum at next opp!

Looking forward to Monday, til then I guess we just have to ride it out! We were up every forty minutes last night, which is just ridiculous and has left us both pretty grumpy! On the bright side, it can only get better, right?

Oh... and does anyone have anything recommendations re Cranial Osteopathy? I have heard fab things about it but only second hand thru friends of friends... "Give her a Dummy"  Madison was just like that the first week and we introduced her to the dummy and things got alot easier.   I hope you get things worked out soon.

I don't really have anything to add, I've been lucky to have 3 that only cry for a few minutes before falling asleep, but I just wanted to say enjoy Family Centre, and take the opportunity for a sleep! We had relux/colic with baby #2 as well, after baby #1 being a breeze. I hope it settles quickly. If you're not satisfied with Plunket's advice, whip her down to the Doctors and they can check about reflux and/or colic and if she needs any medical support for that.

Kaia is a pretty name, actually it reminds me of my niece's name - Kera.

It could possibly be silent reflux - that can be a nightmare. Could be making bubs feel uncomfortable. Just a suggestion mind you.

I've heard babies sometimes like the white noise of radio static and I've heard of a heap of babies who like the vacuum. Rather than put a vacuum under her bed, try recording it and putting that on while she sleeps. No idea if it works, but I'd say you've tried everything else!

Alright, have finally managed to grasp a moment to leap on here and post! For anyone who missed my post in the Oct babies thread, I have had my babe!

She was born on the 27th of Oct, after a short-ish labour and not-so-perfect delivery!!! I got my waterbirth again, but had a few probs getting her out! My contractions never got closer than eight minutes, she was too high and facing the wrong way, then her shoulders got stuck and then finally after a few tense moments without breathing, she finally took a bug gulp of air! So while it was not as blissful as my first delivery, I still got my gorgeous baby girl here in one piece!! She was born 9 lb 12 and was 55 cm long!

Now for the tricky bit...

I need some advice, Quinn was an easy baby, this little missy is not!!

I can't get her to sleep... she sleeps every day for maybe about three hours and that is it. For the rest of the time she must be held otherwise she hollers. She sleeps for one four hours stretch (maybe) over night and the rest is catnaps.   I have tried putting her down awake, putting her down asleep, rocking her to sleep, leaving her to cry, leaving her five minutes then picking her up... so far we are having no luck. I am going off to the plunket family centre next week but was hoping that someone here might have some advice?
