We talk about them, and watch them smack each other and leave them to it. It's really nice to have two other like minded mums for my boy to be "friends" with. Also the other ladies at playcentre are fantastic for saying "well, he IS only two, of course he won't be used to sharing yet" and things like that. It's more people that haven't been around children a lot.

My s-sister was in the chemist one day with her tall boy (seriously he looks about 9 when he's only just turned 6) - this was when he was 3, but looked about 6. anyway, this woman came up to her and handed her a note for a speech therapist. She was appalled!

People are usually shocked when I tell them how old she is but I do try to mention it alot because people do judge when they think children are behind. She is the tallest in her nursery class but she is the second youngest so I think people do expect more of them.
We'll just have to hope that our tall poppies rise to the challenge

That really annoys me. Andrew is tall (he's 2 1/2 and measures 95cm tall) but his dad is 6 foot 4 so it is expected that he is tall. I am a little lucky that Andrew has good speech now - but only since he has had grommets put in. Grin and bear it for a little while or jsut do what I do with grandparents and lose it and tell them he is not their child and he is doing great for his age - quite often done to the in-laws.
