Author: Peace
Subject: 4409
Posted: 11 November 2006 at 3:11pm

Hey Paws, Olivia has a heart murmur a "systolic swish" it was very scary for me (as I am a natural worrier) so it is great to hear that I am not alone!
Olivia was checked out by a paediatrician at 4 months and the sound got a lot louder (which is a good thing, mean a smaller hole if there is one) so we went for a scan and it turns out that she has a tightened pulminary valve (no hole!) which she will most probably grow out of. But we have to go back in a few months for a sedated (woohoo!... oh for her not me!) check up and see what is happening, if it hasn't gotten any better then the give bubbah an angiogram of sorts which will make it better. Mean time Olivia is in the 75% for weight and height so it looks like it is definitely getting better (one way to tell the body is working fine).
Lots of cuddles to Maddy, the shots are always so crappy!

I was tossing up holding the boys so I would be "there" for them - but them having them associate me with pain, or abadoning them to the mean nurse! actually, kinda funny, Jake had to "catch up" on his shots when we came back from the japan and the same nurse did them a month apart or about three months. Anyway, after that whenever we saw her, down the street or in the supermarket he started to scream.

poor Maddy though. i hate needles myself!

Edited by lizzle

One small worry is that she has a very soft heart murmer but I've been told not to worry as they often grow out of it, it's something that Monique will keep an eye on but she said Maddie is doing so well if there was an issue we'd already see symptoms.

Maddie then had her shots and of course screamed and sobbed the doctors office down...I felt like such a mean mummy!
