yahhhh my second chocolate cake worked...i added 1 tbs extra milk ....cooked it for 35mins...left it in the oven for an extra 10mins (oven off) and its great

and yes please Nikki...any recipe thats easy is always good

Another thing is sure to make your cake sink - opening the oven door when it's cooking. Don't do it!

okay will make another one and just try cooking it a bit longer...and put a bit more flour in it.

Could also be that the cake needed baking a little longer....

If you have an older oven cause the temperature may actually be a bit lower than it says (the thermometer expires with time)

I've heard of a good remedy though. Just looked it up and its pretty broad. My thoughts would be that you have too much air in your batter. But here are the things that were suggested


- batter over mixed

- too much fat and/or sugar

- not enough liquid
