I think I'm more excited about TTC than getting married at the moment! Maybe just because I know the wedding will happen, but the baby thing is another issue. Just trying to put my mind at ease!!

It can impact on overseas travel, becasue you really want 2 good years with a good beginning teacher programme, as opposed to patchy experience in overseas schools, but it doesn't tend to impact too much on jobs - just takes you longer to creep up the levels for pay and experience (relieving doesn't count towards the 2 years, unless it is long term relieving).

Hence why we want children now otherwise there's no point in starting to teach if I then have to quit and lose maybe a year and a half of teaching so I can't become registered.

Re: TCol, I finish 15 November next year, with my last placement in July-August so if I fell pregnant February-ish at the earliest I would be able to finish college no problem - a friend of mine did exactly that last year.

Thanks for the advice about the Dr, smart thinking!! I'm glad about my BP, I really do have to watch my eating and drinking because I can faint very easily, so I guess it's just being sensible. But also another thing I know you are still at T Col, would you want to finish your degree and then have children - I know that if you were to get pregnant later next year it wouldn't be a problem but getting pregnant early next year may impact on the final few months - something else to think about.

As for you BP being low I don't think it would be a problem (I may be wrong there) but if you had high BP then that would be a problem.

I have low BP and we fell pregnant really quickly. Even in pregnancy my midwife does not seem bothered at all - I think it's high BP they worry about.
Anyways, best of luck with TTC.

    Author: emz
Subject: 4614
Posted: 25 November 2006 at 11:06pm

Hehe, I didn't know what to put in the title!! Anyway, hi all, I'm emma_chch from the other side (NZWP). We are TTC as of next year, but this is eating me up inside. Here's the deal:

-I have PCOS: only a few cysts, normal hormone levels (well, you know, pretty normal), but have only had 2 periods EVER. I've had the 'fakies' on the pill, but other than that I haven't had one in about 3 or 4 years.
-I have a contracting uterus where every once in a while the blood supply gets cut off and I have contractions, not pleasant, and I have to go to hospital to get a jab to stop it most of the time.

I don't have endo cos I had a hysto/lapro last year. We really want to get pregnant ASAP. My doc said to come back to him after 3 months of trying, but if I don't ovulate or even have periods then is there really any point in waiting to get seen by a gyno?

The thought of not being able to have children is so depressing for me (especially after stealing my friends 12 month old for 5 hours yesterday - we had a ball!), but I'm at a transition phase where I will have to cement a job if I don't get pregnant next year, which will mean I won't want to give it up (we are planning on me staying home for a few years if we have bubbas).

Sorry for the novel, but is there anyone out there who knows ways to fast track the system? We have been very *ahem* lenient with our protection for the last 2 years with no avail, and with DF being sent away every few weeks (he's in the army) we really need to get this sorted! hehe. I guess I'm just looking for any help, I've looked up clom and other fertility treatments. I'm just worried I guess that it won't happen as I know many people are. Anyway, if your still reading this then good on you, I know it's a long one!!

Oh, and another thing, does really low BP affect TTC? I know I have to monitor it during PG, but I'm unsure if it has an affect on TTC or not. TIA!

Edited by emz
