I have PCOS and have been on the pill from 15 to try and trick my body into regulating AF (she doesn't visit me at all!)

Since coming off the pill in May I have had terrible acne, I've tried all different treatment systems (Avon, Neutrogena, Clean&Clear etc etc) then tried ProActiv which was great but made my skin feel itchy and felt like it was burning. Does work great for others though, so that might be an option. At the moment I'm on Doxycycline for 60 days up until the wedding, but it works very slowly. After we have kids if it doesn't clear up I'll either have a hysto or get a treatment of Roaccutane, which is controversial but very effective.

The best thing is lots of water to be honest, I know it sounds simple, but it does help. And try to stick with one product range. It's so frustrating as had great skin when on the pill and as I went on the pill at 15, have never had any problems!! Am hating!! Must look at the avon range then. Thanks, any more advice would be much appreciated.

The second I got acne, my mum shipped me off to a deremetalogist (sp?) = skin speciliast. YEP i had acne so bad it scarred. I used the Avon clearskin range and it cleared me up straight away.

Otherwise theres nothing else u can really do. Hey There,

Thought I would post this here as know there are a few people on this bit that have PCOS. I have been off the pill for about 4 months now but we are not trying...just thought we would see where we were at with my cycle etc as have been on the pill for so long.

Since coming off and finding out about the PCOS thing I have had really bad acne. I know that its a side effect thingy of the condition but does anyone else have this and does anyone have any way of sorting it out, other then the pill and cleaning, toning etc as do that any way and really don't want to go back on the pill as kinda defeats the purpose of being off it.
