Shyte. I just typed a huge reply and then accidentally went back to the last page. ARGH.

Anyway, it went well - went and did coffee. I found out he is still in wandering bachelor mode... Niamh had convinced me he was finally settling down (as in had a stable job and not planning to pack up and leave the country in the next few months) but apparently not. He's not the most ambitious of men, and where he does have ambition he doesn't have the motivation to make it all work. ARGH. So frustrating for an overly driven person like me. But it was fun conversation so I'd go out with him again but I don't think we'd ever have a "relationship".

So entirely boring! Sorry I have nothing juicy to report ladies! Roksana - trusting the other person isn't usually my problem. I already trust Andy (if only because I have Niamh telling me that he's always had trouble with girls in the past because of being too much of a "friend" and not someone they want to drag into the bedroom) but I don't trust me. I have no idea if what I think is "feelings" for someone is actually that!!!

I was just reading a thread on another board talking about marriage and it made me realise that I reeeeally have to stop dreaming my white picket fence dream. That's what got me into trouble with Zeke... deluded me into thinking that I was actually in love with him.

When I met my hubby, I had just come out of a nasty nasty relationship and I thought the same about my hubby - might be a bit of fun - why not take a risk - sort of thing. Trust is a big thing...some people dont realise it but it affects a relationship big time. If you cant trust your partner then you cant be in that relationship.

oh you could do what me and a friend did when we were single after long term relationships, we made a list of the perfect man, wasn't looks but more personality and stuff , like one of my things were that he would love my kids or at least pretend to. I still have the list somewhere must get it out and see. I also read in chickhen soup book this lady did a collage thing of what she wanted out of life, so I did it too, got pics from mags and stuck them to a paper , there was like a happy couple, a big cheque, I put prince william on there (prince charming) a house, a plane for a holiday, lots of smiling faces, I even put a perky pair of boobs on there LOL breastfeeding two kids had its toll on mine LOL.
If anyhtning it puts in perspective of what you want out of a partner and life. May help decide if this new man is the one that can do that for you.???

When I first met my DH I had just been in an abusive relationship so I didn't trust DH, I'd test him alot and annalized everything worried I'd make the same mistake. In the end I decided that if anything else he can be a 'bit of fun' as it turned out we are now married and hes nothing like I worried he'd be, funny thing is about 6 months before our wedding I admitted to him i only thought he'd be a 'bit of fun' and the bugger put that in his grooms speech (shame parents, family and friends there) LOL

Thank ya Roksana and sorry to hear about Zaara... it sucks huh? The amount of time I had to spend at home with Han when she had conjunctivitis nearly drove me nuts. I'd be really vigilant about staying home til it was completely clear and then she'd go back and get it again! ARGH!

Hrmmmmm... well.... the night went ok. I was a real bitch to Andy though. Well, not really rude, just discouraging! I don't know what came over me!!! Niamh (and her silly psychology degree) said that maybe I was trying to sabotage it... because if it doesn't work out then I don't have to worry about all the Hannah stuff and getting hurt or whatever. She may have been right.

You go girlfriend!! Now, I am a long time lover of the "silver fox" variety of men. I don't think I have EVER "dated" anyone close to my own age. There is 12 years between Rod and I (sometimes feels like he is 17 sometimes he is 70, like Atish!)
what Rocks about men over 30 is that they are usually secure in themselves, have some sort of "plan" about liffe, and are actually DOING it (that dosen't include drinking 2 24 packs of beer and scoring a 16 year old)and the world *usually* dosen't revolve around them. There is about 8 years between me and Daniel. I am just about to turn 21 and he is 28. I had a 7 year gap relationship when I was 16 and needless to say it didn't work. When you are older age doesn't matter (within reason).

when I met my hubby my kids were my world, as in previous relationship alot of the time I put ex needs before them - i feel guilty about this everyday but it was an abusive relationship which I tried to make work but thats a whole new story - anyway they were just turned 3 and almost 8, I decided I play it by ear when to introduce to new BF, it as 8 weeks after I met him that I told kids and introduced not long after wards although still careful not to show too much effection and acted like he was a friend rather than Bf, nicki you seem like you know what you doing and so i am sure ypu will know when the time is right for both of you.

Mmmm yes... another man... geez I'm terrible.

I gave up on the other one... and had given up on men altogether actually - until last weekend

I went out for a friend's birthday and had one glass of wine too many... which led to me flirting furiously with her partner's friend Andy.

I later found out that her partner had set the whole thing up. Truly embarrassed! Except that he sent me a text message today and asked me out for a drink! How cute! A date!

So yeah, he's a bit older... QUITE a bit older... which I am struggling to come to terms with. But then I think that was one of the problems I had with my last boyfriend, he was forever competing with Hannah for attention and was never going to win. We'll see how it goes with Andy, but he has a niece a couple of months older than Hannah who he ADORES and babysits all the time... so hopefully he'll understand that he's second best

Not sure what to do about the Hannah thing. Taking baby steps. I think I'm going to hold off on him meeting her and see if things go ok with just us first.
