Hehe, thanks. I found the thread.
Hubby and I are TTC at the moment and when we finally are successful we have pretty much decided we will be using fuzzis (also, we just moved to christchurch so have the subsidies).

But this site and all of your threads has definately been the deciding factor (also am friends with Jezsika so have seen little Ella's cool fuzzis and Jess singing their praise )

Has anyone here actually used a mooncup before? I have been looking into getting one for the past year or so, but am still not sure... Want to hear others experiences.

Paws, do you use mama pads still or have you got a mooncup?

A mooncup is an alternative to tampons....it's a cup which is inserted and collects the blood...you just pull it out a couple of times a day and empty it and rinse it....easy as!

I also love that things save me a small fortune! I have a dedicated container that they get soaked in then thrown in the wash. It's so easy.

The soaking water is used on our plants as it's very similar to blood and bone and does miracles!

The other thing I love is that many women have reported having lighter shorter periods and it's true! Mine have been heaps shorter so far.

Next on my list is a mooncup!

I didn't know Fuzzi's did them also...might have to have a look.

If I was a pad girl I'd definitely be using them. But I don't have anything at the moment due to the injection... so I'll investigate the mooncup when I go off it.

We've never used a liner with the Fuzzis. I don't see the point when the poop just falls off into the toilet anyways.
Any stubburn residue I rinse in the laundry tub then like Paws, rinse cycle, heavey duty wash cycle, rinse cycle.
Our nappies do smell a little bit stale, but that's only because our clothes line is in the garage. Its not just the rubbish side of it. Also that another benefit of modern cloth is the nice soft fabrics against baby's bum, not more rough paper. lol I've been flushing them down the toilet too!! Opps! Everyone I know does so I thought it was ok. I use the J&J's ones as wipes, Astons only every had a wet wipe used on him once and he got nappy rash, but all along ive used them and I have a bucket for the wet ones and a bucket for the clean ones, bad poopy ones I throw. then I wash them and reuse them.

I agree!! We've used the flushable liners with our nappies but using the flushable ones does seem to defeat at least one of the purposes of cloth nappies!

As I say we did start out using flushables but I never replaced them when we ran out. Now I just shake the excess of or use toilet paper to remove it. We also use toilet paper to wipe Maddie up after a pooey nappy as we use cloth wipes as well.

I then dry pail them and do a pre-rinse to get rid of all the yukky stuff then a hot wash with double rinse at the end. Yep you're not supposed to flush those liners, in fact I don't think flushable liners are stocked in supermarkets yet.

I don't bother getting the ick off them, I only flush if there's a lump (which happens after 1yo-ish). I was just washing the cloth naps, doing a prewash 1st.
By 5 months they were gettin hard so went and got some flushable liners and while I got them I got a potty aswell.

Nope, you can't flush them... unless you want a blocked toilet like Emma.

And when they are more solid you can just shake the nappy and the poo falls into the toilet... then you might have to give it a quick blast with water in the laundry sink to clear the residue.

I didn't flush the liners with Maya, but I also didn't bother flushing the 'explosions' off them - just disposed of the whole liner in a scented nappy sack.

Ok i have a poo question.

I have brought some johnson and johnson liners for her naps to use until we get past explosions and balance her bowel movements properly.

What i am wanting to know is can these be flushed down the loo?

If you dont use liners how do u get the poo into the toilet without making a mess?

They probably sound like really silly questions but its puzzling me!! Im so glad she did an explosion in her nighttime disposables tonite!!!
