Bepanthen definitely GREAT for the sore bottoms.Its also really soothing as I used it on my tattoo to sooth and help with healing

Yay this is what I've got to look forward to lol.......Its so easy to forget all these things as the kids get older. My last baby was in 2001 feels like a lifetime ago.

Kez - thanks for the suggestions, but I do have to be careful what I use with Erin as she is in cloth nappies and not all rash / barrier creams are OK to use with cloth.

We had same problem with Ashlyn, she seemed to be prone to it after getting thrush from me with antibiotocs. It did get soo bad I took her to afterhours surgery with blotchy bleeding (poor wee bum) they didn't do much!! but the best thing I did use was mi-creme & when it got really bad mi-creme H (prescription) and then zinc & castor oil over top so the mi-creme could do its work. You can get a huge tub of zinc & castor oil cream on prescription from Dr so it doesn't cost. Jax - when Caitlin had nappy rash we switched to warm wet flannels instead of wipes and also smothering her in the Eco Store nappy balm. Just so that when you change her you don't agrevate the sore.

When Olivia is having her teething poo's I normally use Karicare Barrier (yellow pottle) cream to stop any acidly loose bowel motions scorching her skin. Next step up from that would be petrolium jelly. I have used tui bee balm, curash powder and bepanthen without coating my naps. You can use anything but if its one that doesnt absorb and just sits on the skin (like zinc and castor oil cream) then you can still use it, just use a liner as well. I think you can use anything so long as it's sparingly. Soaking in hot water afterwards would probably help too (the nappies that is).

My girls get that rash thingy with teeth, Hannah has had it the worst and even got it for her 2yo molars a few months back (and she's TT at day!). Poor girl. But the other thing that set it off for Hannah was Farex baby rice. (No allergies since though.) I don't know if this is ok to use with the Fuzzi's but when Andrew had a wicked rash we got a tube of Amolin(sp?) it cleared it up straight away and was very soothing. I could only find it at New World down here, so I would look there first if it is ok to use with the Fuzzi's. Ok, before I ask for advice I will mention that I am likely to be taking Erin to the docs on Tuesday (or earlier if it gets MORE inflamed) to get things checked out in case it's not just a teething thing...

But we've had a LOT of pooey nappies lately, and even in her Fuzzis Erin has nappy rash again and the nappy balm can only do so much to heal it before she poops again and it just keeps bothering her. I mean, that said, it doesn't seem to *really* be unsettling her - the teeth trying to come through is giving her more grief anyways.

I guess what I'm asking is that with the Fuzzis, I know there are only certain ointments and creams you can use, such as the Ecostore stuff... but is it OK to use anything else ??
