we have bought up the smaller versions of that for people to have for bubs at the beach etc (a mat with zipper and mossie net and sun shade)...funnily enough we bought our smaller version at the $2 type shops...and give them out as part of gifts for baby showers etc also...

the only reason i have a portocot is because Jake was still in a cot when Taine was born, so we needed two. I wouldn't use the kindercot as a permanent bed, BUT as it's designed purpose, thats really neat. would make camping and tramping a breeze - if I was that way inclined. But price would be a big factor for me as well.
