I weaned Ella from the breast at 13.5 months and onto a bottle, tried a cup but she wasn't happy.. plus it meant that dad could have some bonding time with her. One day when she had a tummy bug @ 20 months, she decided she didn't want her bottle that night, and the next night I didn't offer it. We had no problems with taking it away.

I eased her into it by switching ehr lunch milk to a cup and just morning and night feed in bottle, then I changed her morning and lunch milk in a cup then I finalyl did all 3 milks in a cup. She actually adapted pretty well to it.
Haleihg only has 2 cups (400ml) cows milk a day now. and about 200 - 400ml water a day, she prefers water to milk but still likes a milk in the morning and milk at night, she's been like that since she was 13months and is now 16months.
After 12months food should be the main diet as too much milk can stop them from eating a well balanced diet (well tats what plunket told me)
