Author: AnnC
Subject: 5641
Posted: 11 February 2007 at 10:14pm

yes I have been a single parent (twice) but I had alot of family help and am lucky I did. I think motherhood SAHM - isn't an easy job - there is no start time nor finish time. Going from FT work to a SAHM to 11 week old and older 2 8yr and 13yrs, I'd say work was easier even with the pressure, but I couldn't see myself working full time and then come home. I did it with the older two but with young ones they need you so much more. And yep I find it the most differcult thing to do is to ask for help (that and sorry I was wrong LOL ) and so I beat myself up something cronic until I actually ask hubby for help.
But ladies (and men who take on the SAHM role) we all need a huge hug pat on the back and appluse (sp) for a job well done.
and the reward is when ppl tell you what great kids you have - yep that me who did that

We also live in a half completed house, so every night and in the weekend DH is working on the house. I reached a melting point so do speak and spoke to DH about it and said that we never did anything as a family so that helped and we now do a little bit more as a family. I was feeling like a single mum during the weekend and felt guilty because the kids are in creche during the week so they should have both of our attention in the weekend at the very least!

I was a single mum for around 20 months and also think sometimes it would be easier.

And Andie it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who gets the "What do you think we did in my day" speech. you worded everything so perfectly.

Hubby works very long hours then comes home and falls asleep on the couch, yet I'm not aloud to be tired or grumpy as I'm lucky, I get to stay home all day and have lots of breaks and well hell according to hubby I don't do much all day anyway his words "How hard is it anyway"!

I love being a stay at SAHM but will admit there are some days I dream of being back in the work force but know that I would miss the kids too much and know that it's not the answer. It's nice to lnow I'm not the only one who gets frustrated.

I have been feeling much the same way except I do have hubby home alot the time sometime's I think that can make it a little harder too cause you have to think of someone else as well sd the kid's and yourself hubby is really helpful, but I find it really hard to leave him alone when he is here. Which mean's he really get's no time to do what he want's.
Well said Andie you hit the nail on hte head tho about hte being bored thing I get that too, but I hate to admit I find it hard being a SAHM cause it is what I have alway's wanted.
