So maybe it is hormonal? But I do know that Napisan is a shocker on skin, dries it out something chronic.

I use paw paw ointment on the gremlins and it works beautifully, recommended it to a friend who gets shocking exczema and it worked for her as well.
Also a probiotic powder taken every day helps to heal the exczema from the inside out.
Author: kezplanet
Subject: 5761
Posted: 17 February 2007 at 2:32am

I have found that my eczema does flare up with hormonal changes, stress, lack of sleep. Also constant washing of hands, while hairdressing and after nappy changes, before food prep etc. I had some come up under my ring and found that the skin never got a chance to dry up properly before getting wet again, you could try coating the inside of your ring with clear nail polish - to see if it is a reaction to the metal.
To help with the itch which is insane!!! apart from scratching the layers of skin off to raw you can try cold oats soaked in water, put in muslin(porridge - there is something soothing in it) Pinetarsol - from chemist mixed with some cold milk and just dab it on or soaking in it which works if its hands/fingers. Try to keep your core temp down a bit I have found helps with keeping the itch at bay. If your eczema is of a weepy nature and you are using prescriptions get ointment rather than creams, I have found the water content in the creams can sting and they are not as effective as ointments. Use barrier creams where ever possible, we have found Lemnis fatty cream has been the best so far.
Sorry this is sooooo long, if you would like pm me and I will help if I can

Shewent without rings for a little while and tried them on again once it had cleared, and it all came back. Would pay to ask your Doctor about it at baby's next check-up I think.

Ever since the birth of my daughter I've had two patches on my hands that won't go away - on the knuckle of my right middle finger and all arouns my left ring finger (can't wear my wedding ring!). Does anyone have a cure or can you suggest what could be causing it? I'm eating the same as before...only things I could think of were Napisan (only used occasionally and surely it would affect more than those two small spots?) and weirdly, breastfeeding? hormones? any ideas? The itching is driving me nuts!
