We looked into one of these and they did look pretty good. In the end we decided we'd be moving house too soon for it to be worthwhile, and wouldn't regain the cost in the house sale price. So we didn't.

But I have friends who are renting a place with an HRV system and she said if you're the at-home type, the audible hum would drive you nutty. Does anyone have one, and if so, what do you think. Or do you have some other ventilation system in your home?

We are trying to decide whether to get one or not, to cut down on winter heating costs. We are in a 5 year old home, so it's already pretty warm etc.
