OK do you get more of an AS when you have more children? Glow I wonder if your entitlement will change once you have #2.

We didn't used to get a whole lot from the AS but when we moved, our mortgage doubled and we gained baby #3 so now we usually get the top, or close to. From what I got told (when I rang them) it is on your area and household income.

On a side note, I rang them cause our morg went up $45 a week but they wouldn't put up our $3 a week we get.

The actual floor space of my office isn't 20% of the total floor space, but I figured working from home 30 hours a week meant I also used the kitchen for lunch, the bathroom etc. and a fair amount of power, water and stuff. It can actually be beneficial to work from home as you qualify based on your income AFTER expenses. Eg. for me when I was self employed my total taxable income was total income less expenses. I was claiming 20% of each of my rent/phone/power/water/cleaner etc. because my office space occupied 20% of the total space of my home. So my actual income for Family Support/Accomodation Supp etc. purposes was significantly lower than it would have been if I was on PAYE earning the same amount.
Altho I did have extra phone/power etc. because of running a business from home.
