i take B6 atm and i take it all the way through, took it with vitex ttcing with DD too all the way through till BFP then stopped them both though B6 is commonly used to remedy MS
took ony 2 cycles of b6 and vitex to get BFP with DD so hoping itll help this time too

Is anyone using Vit B6 or vitex to help their cycles?  I'm just not really sure how I should take it, some say the whole way through the cycle and others say only after O (for the b6) and only before O (for the vitex)...

Westisbest I can't enlarge your pic but I'd say positive on the 21/5th so oving within 24- 48hours after that. Keep bding I'd say for a day or two yet. This thread is hard to use with the extra pages- there are lots of ttcers over in the tww thread and many of us hang out there through our whole cycles. Others there are pretty on to it so might be worth posting there too.

Heya, I posted this in another forum but maybe it's better here! I'm trying to figure out if I may have ovulated yesterday...

What do you think? I am currently CD 14 (bottom strip). They were all taken around 2pm.
I had partial ferning 2 days prior in the morning but only pebbles since then :/ Also, no temp rise just yet. I love FF, and especially the app on my phone.

You might of missed your ovulation, or stress can stop you ovulating.

Mines been stopped for 10 days a couple of times before, which made me end up having 40 day cycles

A positive is caused by a surge in LH (Luteinizing Hormone), which then triggers ovulation.

The LH surge occurs 24 to 36 hours before ovulation.

So if you did a test while you were ovulating it would actually show a negative

Is it at all possible to have a negitive test but still be ovulating, im sure my CM is giving me all the signs (sorry TMI) but just did a OPK and was neg raced home from work thinking here we go lol

No instructions! That's a bit lame. I use about 6 sticks per cycle, but I know from my CM when around about to start testing.

If you have no idea how long your cycle is though I guess your first cycle you'll just be guessing! I'd start testing once a day every day after your period has finished. Just because I'm a bit OCD and they are pretty cheap, so if you're not too worried about the cost at least you know you won't miss ovulation.

You use them a couple of hours after limited liquid, usually between 12PM and 2PM or if it's easier for you 5PM and 7PM - I guess it really doesn't matter so long as it's not your first morning pee and it's after 11AM and you haven't had much to drink for a few hours.

A positive is only when the line is the same or darker than the test line, and you'll probably only see it once, on one day, in a cycle.

Thanks Nell i got my first batch from trademe and they just turned up in a envelope with no instructions no cup nothing i was like hmmm? lol so prob wont get from there again but guess thats what ya get when you dunno what your doing ha ha

Haha awwww! I dunno, I get faint lines if I leave it too. Pretty sure it's only a positive if the line is the same or darker than the test line. And you'll see it almost straight away, well mine does - it gets dark really fast on a positive so there's no question for me

Thanks i got a bit too excited on saturday and raced home from work and tested only to find OPK-N which i left for 5 mins then there was a faint line so????? i figured cos id left it so long it might be invalid? Im tempted to try again today but weve just been BD everyday cos its kinda fun and with all this wet weather what else to do really lol wonder if i should buy another pack of OPK?

I'm gonna try wake this one up :) I did post in the seeing what happens but was told this one would be more suitable lol
So anyway I've just brought some OPK and I'm wondering how best to use them? My cycles have been very long since coming off the pill at the start of the year, my doc said approx 14 days from day 1 of period is when your most likely to ovulate but I wondering if because I've a longer cycle maybe I'm not day 14????
Any advice??

I'm kind of waiting for ovulation in respect to the fact that I will then be in the 2WW but since we a trying for a girl BDing 2-4 days before ovulation is supposed to be the best time so once I get a +ve OPK we will leave it for another few days after to BD again (amazing how much we share in these forums huh!)

Had a -ve OPK test this morning so will try again tomorrow.

I we all get BFP's soon especially those who have been trying a while!

I find that sometimes BDing can loosen up a bit of something that hadn't quite came out yet, so it comes out after BD.

Hi girls... is this thread still alive or is everyone just still in 2ww?
I have a question, would really appreciate some insight, am so confused so I had normal AF, was a long cycle though, and then a day and a half later after gentle BDing (TMI but just want to point out it wasn't anything rough) I had some bleeding, I suppose you could call it spotting, now it's late the following morning and it's like a light period.
Any ideas? I have never had anything like this and it feels like another sign that my body intends on not cooperating at all with me

Hi everyone,

Just spent the morning reading through the last few months of this thread... lurking as some may call it, lol.

We are in the process of TTC after a MC in late Sept 2012. I have a phone app that roughly provides me with an inkling of my cycle (ovulation etc) but have just bought some ovulation tests online to provide myself with a better idea of when to BD.

I have slight cramping today - not sure if this is ovulation or something more. My dilemma is that I've finally worked out that I actually average to a 26 day cycle, not 28 as I thought ... Bummer is that my estimated fertile period is over next weekend and DH is overseas, he's leaving Friday, back late Monday, I've estimated that I should OV either Mon or Tues, by that time I'm guessing it's too late?

Off to buy some more OPK's, I've run out cause I thought I'd be UTd by now... From what I have read - you are definitely in a fertile window, as the EWCM will help get the sperm up there, ready for an egg once you ovulate.

Sperm live for up to 4 days - eggs only last 24 hours. So if you have EWCM, you need to get BDing!

The next thing is helping out your DH. is it a stress/fatigue thing? maybe see if you can catch him when he is less tired, maybe as soon as he gets home for work, or first thing in the morning...its a hard one though, pressure to perform when you are TTC can be tough too.

So this might be TMI for some of you and I apologise in advance. I need to talk about CM. I am CD10 and have been oving around CD17. I just went to the toilet and when I wiped a large amount of CM was on the toilet paper - so much that I inspected it and saw it was stretchy and an egg white consistency (sorry!). I checked my internal CM which was watery (sorry again!). My question is, does your body start producing fertile CM a week out from ov? I am asking because maybe I will ov earlier this cycle and better get on with BDing. DH is a very reluctant BDer with a low libido, so I have to get the timing pretty good as we only BD once a week usually and he finds it hard to do it more than every 3 days when it's TTC time. Any ideas ladies? I think I may have ovulated yesterday but will have to wait for tomorrows temp. Hanger - hang in there! Its good that you had a 31 day cycle if you have PCOS - I have limited knowledge, but from what I've heard they sometimes put you on a high dose contraceptive for 3 months then take you off it, as apparently it can trigger ovulation for you? Absolutely agree that the waiting is awful. This waiting for ovulation is so frustrating. This is my first cycle taking opks and charting. I also don't know if I will actually ovulate as I have PCOS and have only been off the pill 2 months and had one 31 day cycle. so that is making me extra nervous. Today I had my temp drop which is good timing for ov tomorrow which would fit in with my last 31days. No nausea, but even when I knew I was pregnant (in Sept) I didn't get nausea, only the very odd very faint feeling that went away with a few deep breaths.

I had a vivid dream last week that I had a baby and was breast feeding. Oddly specific.

I'm not sure vineyardhoney.. after we got married in March I stopped taking the pill and we just carried on as per usual I wasn't tracking anything so I have no idea how long it took to be on a regular cycle. I didn't start trackng AF till June.

Have mentioned symptoms elsewhere but have had tender boobs for a few days, vivid dreams and pins and needles when sleeping at night. I don't think thats actually a symptom but I had it a lot before in August before I knew we were pregnant and it eventually went away after I got a new pillow but even with the new pillow now its back, now matter how I lie! do you think it took a while for your body to adjust from being on the pill? My doc talked about how when you start ovulating again, your body can sometimes throw a "dud" egg when you first start to ovulate, which may be why we miscarried so early also.

We were just "seeing how things go" since March, had been tracking AF only since June, got a +ve early Sept but then lost the baby late Sept.

So now I'm on my first cycle and started using OPKs. Have you tried OPKs Tan? I think they are really cool (geeky much!?) I mean it may not work and we may not get UTD but knowing that its the right time of the month to try is great.

I haven't specifically jumped hubby, I did tell him this would be the fertile period but I didn't initiate anything. Even when the ov test was positive I just let him initiate it and he is none the wiser (he will have forgotten me telling him earlier) and he just thinks he's a stud

Perhaps to take the pressure off hubby a bit you could have a D&M with him about not trying so hard but just quietly track it yourself, get some OPKs and when you know the timing is good set the scene but let him think it was his idea! (Letting them think anything is their idea works all the time!)

Kalika - yeah I know. I ov'd at CD17 this month too. I think my point about the doc's advice is that no-one really knows what is right except for you...and maybe fertility friend! Lol. The doc told me to BD every day for 7 days and that is just not gonna happen either! You just go with what your body is telling you...and maybe fertility friend...and the opk's! Lol. Tiger_lily - I was told by my doctor to count 9 days from the first day of AF and then BD every night for the next week. I have been told by other sources that every second day is better and the boys need a chance to recharge and strengthen their swimmers. I think if your cycles are not really regular or you can't tell when you ov, then it's better to BD as much as possible over that time to catch the wee egg.

AFM - As you know, DH is not so keen on BDing too much and I know exactly when I ov (so far anyway), so as long as we BD at the time I know I have ov'd I hope that will work. As they say, you only need one! Not sure of my theory really but it may just save our marriage anyway!

Edit - I forgot to say that I have learned that the egg lasts for 12 - 24 hours and the sperm lasts up to 4-5 days, so I reckon as long as you BD fairly close to ov even only once or twice, I reckon that's enough (happy to be wrong but that's what I've read).

I've heard of some people every day and some every 2nd day.

I've been jumping hubby more often when I'm in the potential fertile zone, but wondering if it should be every day?
I feel like of you leave it to every 2nd day you could be missing a chance, but I also read that you need to give the swimmers a chance to reload? Hence every 2nd day.... Gah! I just wanna get PGy!

So try what you said, Imsure it was you Kalika, you spend all your 20's trying not to get pregnant, then your 30's trying to!

I've just been fiddling around with my FF chart and its so annoying! I'm not temping yet but have been charting AF, BD and will start doing CM. Obviously with no temping the chart is not worth looking at but on the calendar its really annoying how the calendar doesn't show CD numbers or when you BD'd but it does show it on the mobile view. Trying to figure out when my predicted OV days were when I got UTD in relation to when we BD'd

(Sounds like another language all the abbreviations!)

ETA: I am at CD9, forecasted fertile days CD15-17 and forecasted OV days CD18-24. Will try BD every 2nd day I think, pretty sure hubby won't argue with that goal

Ps. when should I start OPKs?

Tiger-lily, same here! DD was conceived first try and so was my first preg last year which ended in chem preg.... now a year later, we are still trying! grr grr grr CD15 for me today - and still no sign of a +ve OPK!

Kumeroa - probably wouldn't hurt to go see the doc about it, even if you get a bit of reassurance out of the visit. Storm things are all good here we are just chugging along as per usual. Tossing up whether to go to doctors about my cycles being all over the show as i have read that you LP isnt supposed to change just when you ovulate but i tend to ov around CD14/15 but then my LP is anywhere from 9/16 days i just dont get it. We been TTC for 10months now.
Other than that i am as chipper as ever and busy on the farm

I'm here.... this waiting for OV sucks just as much as the TWW! I am using OPKs and this time last month I had my positive - so am a bit gutted OV isn't happening as early as last month :-( prob due to my chemical preg though! I'm not really holding out much hope this cycle after mc but am still trying to be positive :-)

Sorry tiger_lily OPK's are beyond me. I find them very confusing.

Sem - yes ovulation pain is a very good sign of ovulation. I used to get it each month but not very often anymore.

AFM - Im CD6. We're upping the effort this cycle. My blood tests have all come back normal so obviously its just going to take some time. DH and I are going to BD every second day up til CD20. Hopefully it will pay off in a BFP this time! Only thing is that I will really have my hopes up. I'm just going to try to concentrate on getting some quotes for new curtains in my house instead.

Hi Ladies, just a question, hoping somebody can answer. I know I am about to ov in the next few days, based on my cd and length. I have massive ov pain on my left ovaries today. Is that good enough an indication that I am currently ovulating? Hi ladies, did an opk today and got a faint line so Ov is just around the corner, i'm on day 10 CD to OV *should* be 5 days, having a rough time atm im really busy and the last 2 days been feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, i was eating really well and taking vits but that went out the window yesterday. I'm really hoping DH and i can BD every day from today for at least the next 7 days but i dont have the energy!!

I was being really positive and trying to eat right and exercise and drink lots of water but i think it added more stress and i think my prob for not getting utd is stress so id rather eat as best i can drink as best i can and continue walking and be relaxed than try doing all that stuff. Hi ladies how are we all going i am CD7 here i think, and this wait to Ov is better than the TWW, just going to relax a bit on this cycle and just BD every 2nd day and maybe a bit more often around when OV is due. Finding the whole TTC thing a bit stressful at the moment and was getting myself down about it all. I think i will take a page out of your book Tiger Lily and use the power of positive thinking and i WILL see you in the Due in May 2013 group

Hi all, we are going to be trying for #2. DD has just turned one. Currently CD5. Nervous but excited to be TTC. Last time it took us 14 months, hopefully it doesn't take as long this time. I haven't read through posts yet, but I will. SO just a big HI from me at this stage.

Hi ladies im in here now, CD to Ov 11days, bought some opk's (i got the dropper ones rather than the sticks) from baby for you the other day, received them yesterday so cute it came with baby dust. Tiger lily i know exactly how you feel i was feeling that way last week when AF arrived, for me to keep my mind off all the no baby disappointment i read, and i've started doing my gardening, i'm also helping my friend get her wedding together, so i have a few things that keep my mind off that feeling i get when i see lots of mums UTD. I have always got my OPKs from baby4u - really good service.
Basically you pee on the stick whe you are getting close to ov... you are looking for 2 lines but unlike a PG test the 2nd line needs to be darker that the control line to indicate a positive which means you are almost about to OV.

Kumeroa, I'm not sure I have not started using OPK's cause I havent reached my first OV yet. this is driving me crazy, feels like I have been off the pill for months already but I'm only on CD11, why is this going so slow!!! Def not AF cramps it's only day 15 on my cycle, but gah this is so painful, I'm doubled over in pain waiting for the painkillers to kick in. Anyone else experienced this? Yeah they certainly dont tell you that it can take so long but then again everyone is diff. A friend of mine cam off pill and got preg in first month. The massive cramps today remind me of why I hated getting my AF and one of the reliefs of the BCP but man I was SO happy to see it this morning ha ha ha
It surprises me that none of the nurses or doctors have ever told me or warned me of the possible effects going on the BCP can have on conception when I decide to come off, it really should be spoken about alot more.

Just tried my OPK for first time and faint 2nd line so O must be on the way. I am now 30 and had been on BCP for 14 years non stop so i am not suprised it took my body so long to get it a into g.
