I do all the washing and he folds it. His brain however stops at the folding. Folded clothes are then delivered to their owners rooms and "dumped" either on the bed or on the floor and there they stay until I put them away or they disappear again (back in the washing after being worn).

I struggle with the fact that he has no clue as to how a toilet roll holder works; meaning that once the tp is finished you put a new roll on, and if you're sitting down all you need to do is lean to your right and fish one out of the basket and da dah stick on the holder

Oh I have many many examples of my beloved's strange ways... but i gotta stick the chicken in the oven..we could be here for awhile otherwise

Reminds me of a funny story with hubby.

Now look here this man doesnt really help in the house. His excuse is that I will just complain and do it over. (granted I do do that if he goes and sweeps the tile floors and then only make the bed.)

We were having a huge fight the one day about him not helping me in the house and that I feel like a maid. So him and me just took a bit of a break. I went to the room to go read a book like really freaking mad at him. All of a sudden I hear the washingmachine.

Now I am curious about what da hell was going on but not letting on as I am "angry" at him.

Anyway 45 minutes later he comes in and tells me that he knows I am mad at him but he has a kind of question for him. Guess what he asks me? Why did the colours mix?

He went and put white clothes with red and blue. (luckily all his freaking stuff.)

I couldnt be angry anymore and just laughed. I tried to do another wash to get it out but didnt work. He didndt do a load on his own ever again but will put the washing machine on when I ask him too.

    Author: mamanee
Subject: 6390
Posted: 27 March 2007 at 5:16pm

There is a reason why I like to do my housework all by myself. Sure, some help is nice, but should really only be attempted on the basic tasks that don't require a woman's logic.

As we were shifting furniture around in the bedroom today, DP moved some piles of clothes from on top of the drawers. Instead of figuring out what was clean/dirty, he chucked it all in the washing basket. I assumed that it wouldn't get any further than the washing basket, as he is virtually incapable of operating the washing machine. So I made a mental note to sort through the washing later because I know explicitly which item belongs where and it's general state of cleanliness.

Alas, I was wrong, and before I knew it he had put it all in the washing machine and turned it on. Being a nice person I thought better than to burst his godly domestic bubble, and thanked him kindly for helping (underestimating exactly how much clothing he had put in the basket).

See, I'm not fussy, but I have a washing system, and today was not washing day. I don't do a lot of washing at a time as we don't have an outside washing line, just a string in the garage that I can't reach, and an airing rack. Therefore, I wash a few times a week, the items I know we will need.

The washing machine finishes it's cycle... I have to hang it out, as once something is in the washing machine, the notion of washing is well and truly over for my DP.( I don't know how he thinks things get dry) So then I go into the laundry to find a pile of 'actual' dirty towels and things on the floor that he had pulled out of the washing machine, and a FULL washing machine full of clothes that were already clean before he put them in there.

It's all done now though. I hung the whole lot out, while he stood and watched while he mucked around in his tool box.

I did actually 'mention' to him that the washing was already clean, but it somehow became my fault for not putting clothes away in the drawers and how was he supposed to know what was clean or not!. The funny thing is, all the clothes he washed were his, and he hasn't worn them for ages. (Grr, and also my pyjamas that were nice and clean for me to wear tonight, but now will be wet till tomorrow)

Sorry for the really long post. I am just quite annoyed at the stupidity of the man.

Please share some stories about stupid things a man you know has done, so I know I'm not alone in the world.

Edited by eomachine
