But no, Nanma bought Kiya a teletubbies video, and plays it for her all the time!

It wouldn't be so bad if they actually talked properly... I was a youth councelor (?sp?) at a Banardoes camp when I was a teenager - one of the girls there was 5, loved teletubbies and would only talk the way Laalaa (her favourite) did! Sheesh! Same happened with the kewlest barbie poster that daddy brought home with him after being away.. I think the only poster we still have up is the Hi-5, it got relocated and is now in an acceptable place for her. lol.

oh, and an abc poster on the roof above where her cot used to be.. that's been there since day dot.. i think she forgets it's even there, god forbid if she notices it again. lol

hhhm, who's the boss in our house?

Edited by mum2paris

Her room doesn't really have a 'theme' as such, but she has haps of framed photos, her bookcase, another bookcase full of ornaments, music boxes etc. and this huge hammock full of soft toys above her bed. PLus she has a huge poster with her name on it that we had specially made, and some Pooh posters, and Monsters Inc. She has 2 duvet covers, one with teddy's and one with farm animals, and an Elmo sleeping bag, and these really cool shelf/bin type thingies to organise all her shoes (she has about 30 pairs!!!!!). I so love her room, so much more interesting than mine!

Stop stressing.
Every woman says this early on, I dont want to know about the pain, tearing etc, but when the time gets closer, you'll want to know so you can be prepared. If it was as bad as your thinking, would all these second timers be having another one? Honestly, the joy and happiness babies bring, soon make you forget the labor and birth.
And her head was 36.5cm!

On a scan at 36 weeks the weight estimate was 7lb9oz, so she did some serious growing in the last two weeks. But she was still covered in vernix which is a sign of preterm birth.

But I don't think she was that hard to deliver, I didn't end up with any stitches, just a tiny tear. I guess it depends on your own body, and I am quite big boned (fat too, but big boned) so I guess I probably have a big pelvis?

The car was a complete write off. We rang plunket about his carseat, and then the makers and they both suggested we throw it out, as even if it doesn't looked damaged on the outside it can have structural damage on the inside. I was amazed how many people offered to buy it even though they knew why we were getting rid of it. We just dumped it. Be really careful buying secondhand even from shops, as to be tested proparly they are supposed to be sent away. We were told to Auckland.
