I had something similar once and a friend who knew about natural remedies recommended cuttle fish pills. She gave me some, so I have no idea where you can get them, but they seemed to work a bit getting rid of the side effects (in terms of the dizziness). Fortunately no chucking here, although with the migraines my stomach really clenches up and even drinking is a no go. Last night my only relief was sleep.

It's not virus related as I haven't been sick lately, otherwise my GP was saying it would be more likely to be Labyrinthitis (which is an actual infection in most cases). I'm feeling for ya! For me the dizziness only lasts about a week so hopefully you'll start to feel better by the weekend. Dishes and laundry don't look after themselves but try to just do the bare minimum and get your DH onboard.

Did your doctor say whether it was virus-related (just had a cold?) or loose crystal? And have you been chucking?

Becks - sadly no, nothing else can be done for it, except for the "resting" bit that I mentioned before.

What makes it worse is my neck muscles are quite tense from trying to keep my head still, and as a result I am getting splitting migraines on top of the sea sicky feeling.

DH can't really take time off either since he has put in for a week and a half off next month when my MIL comes to visit. I might try my mum though, because I have no energy for even basic stuff like laundry, and trying to carry on regardless is hard.

That sucks - sound svery similar to Labrinthitis that I had last year - 2 weeks of the world spinning, sometimes so badly that I coulsn't walk without falling over. Couldn't read or even watch tv! Worst feelign ever, like that spinny feeling you get when you have had way too much alcohol and lie down. But worse.

My FIL has Meneires disease (sp?) which is an inner ear thing.

Anyway, I know that two things which are supposed to 'help' ease the symptoms is to limit alcohol (as in, avoid it) and cut your salt right back.

The mysterious "it" finally has a name, the disturbing dizzy / spinning / sea sick sensation that has been bothering me on and off (in the last few days more on than off!) since last Thursday. It's BPPV or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo - which as some of you may or may not recall poor Busymum had too a while back.

There are a few things that can cause it, but the best part is that they can't really medicate it - unless I start to feel nauseous all the time, and then there's a pill to fix it, but not the disoriented feeling.

In a nutshell, my inner ear is bung, and I was told to "rest" (HAH!) and try not to overextend myself. This is going to be a very long 2-3 weeks indeed (the time frame I've been given in which this should correct itself).

Anyway, moan over !
