Hehe I keep telling myself I am not going to post as much and just become a lurker cos of all the times Ive opened my big mouth lately and become involved in little debates but well... my mouth is too big and i just cant help myself. But I do hope that those who have been involved in the wee issues going on lately do continue to share thier opinions and stick with OB. Whether I agree with your posts on a certain subject doesnt mean I wont appreciate your advice on other things if that makes sense. And I feel like an outsider sometimes even though I started here when Kobe was a baby. Its like siblings, you may not agree on everything but we are still an online family with new additions everyday (members and babies) and we might squabble and bicker but we still need each other. (ok so its been an emotional day for me and Im probably sounding like a right sook but hey I got more support from you ladies today than i did my hubby)

Well I've wrestled all afternoon as to how or whether I should reply but I'm finally going to.

I've been calling myself a lurker becuase I have been lurking in recent months. I do feel there is a certian cliquey element and it is for that reason I have lurked more than anything else. The last time I really posted I was made to feel like I shouldn't have because I didn't agree with the prevailing opinion. I figured what was the point and so moved to a forum where debate, open discussion and differing opinions are genuinely welcomed.

Forums do under go change and members come and go...it goes in cycles and I believe that is what OHBaby is going through. I would however like to see it return to the community it once was.

AnnC, I knew where you were coming from in your post, I was never a big poster till I got pregnant with number 2 adn IVe only jsut started to get ot know other members, I think I spend a majorty of my time on the June MTB thread, and only recently started bouncing around the site more.

I thought and thought and thought about replying to some of the comments on here but decided to not say alot - I think what I had said in other thread upset alot of ppl and also had alot of ppl agreeing with me. I do now wish I had kept my big mouth shut as I some what feel labeled for doing so...(not to mention opening a can of worms)
But in having said that I shall still stick around as I value everyones advise, conversations and really just seeing what everyone is up to. I too feel like I have been here and posted quite a few but few actually 'know' me. Most prob the Nov 06 mummies would know me best.

Be prepared, this is going to be long...

Maree we all remember who you are, but you hadn't actually posted for such a long time I thought you had left - its an easy conclusion to come to when you have three kids, esp with a toddler and a baby!!

Like someone else said, I dont always have time to reply to every post I read, but I do read and take in what everyone is saying. And it does matter what every person says - we all ask for advice and get many different opinions to pick and choose from, thats the beauty of an online community.

I dont like conflict at all and usually shy away from it and have so far not commented on whats been happening to my beloved OB, but I am personally getting sick of being made to feel guilty for being supposedly 'cliquey' etc etc, but I have been here over two years and done 3000 and something posts so I have know a few of the others here for a long time and have shared stuff with them that my IRL friends dont know about, so of course some people are going to feel a bit left out. And it is also to be expected that the dynamics will change a bit as it is not the small community it used to be.

I think it would be really good if we all stopped with these posts and got back to what this place is all about - so nicely summed up by Theresa (busymum). Everyone needs to chill out a bit, forget about whats been going on and stop starting these threads as they are just keep prolonging the negative feelings.

OK, now that is my moan over.


Just an idea - do you think it would help if we started a new stickied introductions thread. The old one has got so long I find it daunting to look at and meet the newbies. Maybe that would be one way of the newer members to feel more included if we all 'met'?

I watch Becca's posts with interest, often because she has 3 kids and sometimes cause when she's talking about her DH it catches my eye (my DH has the same name). Nikki first introduced me to MCN although she probably doesn't know and it was Vanessa's thread about shows that got me charged on the search engine after I had a show for Krystiana lol - that's just off the top of my head and of course there are many more I could think of.

lol really, here i was thinking you had just forgotten or gave them to someone else. yeah they do and you can put a claim in, but only if you have the receipt from the post shop.

Thanks Emma.
Connor had a milk tolerance test at Starship a couple of weeks back and came through with flying colours. He's now having follow-on formula feeds with his three meals of solids a day. It makes him a bit more spewy but other than the extra stains on the carpet, that's not a bad thing. He has two teeth, is crawling (well, dragging) himself around the room and squawks at the cat.
