I thought of you all I closed my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say.

A Mother has a baby
This we know is true.
But God can you be a Mother
When your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can He replied
With confidence in His voice
I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime
And others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay

I just don't understand this, God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.

I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say...

"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My Mummy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mum
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My Mummy set me free.

I miss my Mummy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow's where I lay.

The lady who made the graphic (Trish passed it on to someone else) enhanced mine, it was actually a lot darker coz it's scanned from the actual film. 'Baby' was only tiny, the tiny little black spot. Hey Emma. We got the ultrasound pics of our first scan.. which had been so clear. but the pics aren't really that great i feel.

I didn't write this (in fact I didn't write anything after my m/c, I was completely blank), but it's a verse from an old Garth Brooks song that reminds me of baby. I actually made a CD of songs that reminded me of baby and I still play it from time to time (and bawl my eyes out).

Ok so lots of posts. but thought We could incorporate a post for poems in here.

I was cleaning just before, and all of a sudden the lines started coming into my head.. so i just came and sat down and wrote.

Here's my Poem:

An angel smiled on me today
as I was sitting here
quietly grieving for what I’d lost
and shedding all my tears

It made me feel so very sad
at what would never be,
I’d never get to kiss it’s cheek
And hold it close to me

I’d never get to breathe in
That warm new baby smell
That makes you feel so very close
And whole inside as well

I think of all the little things
I already know I’ll miss
Like mucky handprints on the windows
And free hugs with a gooby kiss

No little footsteps in the hall
Before the crack of dawn
No rugging up with gloves and hat
As I send it off on frosty morns

I don’t get to hold by babe
My arms are empty still
The only reminder are all these flowers
Slowly dying on my window sill

When I stopped and thought a while
I started to feel some peace
It’s gone to heaven up above
To keep watch over me

To look after it’s sister’s
And guide them through their lives
To softly whisper in their ears
And remind them wrong from right

To tuck them in when I’m not there
And be their angel friend
I know we’ll all meet up some day
At one point in the end

So when I think of my angel
Who smiled on me today
I’ll remember seeing it’s shiny wings
As it turned and walked away

And while I’m still here crying
I know it’s all ok,
And I’m so glad my angel came
