this is a myth...it is disprin and bonjela that shouldnt be used together.

somtimes pamol and bonjela together is all that works. cause lets face it the bonjela doesnt really help the pain that much, just numbs the area. there are other things that can be used too - there is a teething spray i have heard good things about and lots of other natural remedies too.

Thanks everyone, am off to get a few things today. We had a much better night last night, only woke once at 4am and was pretty easy to settle. She is still chewing on everything in sight and her day sleeps have gone to pot, but I can handle that better if she is ok at night!

Actually, I've been waiting for this one, but so far so good. A little bit of a rash but nothing that hasn't cleared up straight away (like, within a few nappy changes) once I put a bit of cream or powder on. Natura Pharm also do a natural spray - teethmed, I havn't used it as although it took sometime & it was uncomfortable we did get thru without too many scars (even molars!)
You maybe could try light massage of her gums if she's not too grumpy

oooh, I will go check out the Weleda stuff - I'm a bit iffy on giving her Pamol, would rather keep it as a last resort type of thing as well...although 2 hours sleep is pretty close for me!
Can you tell I'm hanging out for answers to this post - I am replying every chance I get!
Tonight is looking better, so I guess I should take myself off and get some sleep. I feel so bad for her though, it can't be pleasant
At least my milk supply is getting a good boost from all this extra feeding she's doing - my boobs are massive!! pamol is okay with bonjella its products that contain asprin that arnt okay.

Unfortunately teeth can come up and down for quite a while before they break the surface and some children (and mummys) suffer worse than others. Lots of things to chew on are good if she is on solids, fozen pear in muzlin cloth for her to suck and chew on could offer some relief during the day. Also if she is over 6 months nurofen might offer more relief at night because it lasts for up to eight hours and is a antiflam as well. But in saying that i would only use it as a last resort.

Weleda also puts out natural teething stuff as does healtheries. Might be a good idea to go to a local health shop?

Oops! Just read that back and yeah, I didn't give them to her at once - was about three hours apart when the bonjela would have worn off. Thought I'd start with something topical and then give her pamol. Thanks for the heads up though!
Unsettled on and off for a month too...I really need to get some sleep before posting!

DD hasn't had any teeth come through yet but she is definitely teething on and off. On Friday night she had a shocker, awake nearly all night and wanting to feed or be comforted. I got a grand total of 2 hours sleep and then DH started snoring . Gave her some Pamol and bonjela and that seemed to help. Does this teeth movement thing go on for long before they break through? She's been unhappy for a good month now and still no results!
