Over the last little while, as Kiya has outgrown her toys I've put them away in a box saying "lets put this here for any babies who come to visit". Then, once I was pregnant with Josiah I'd say "lets put this away for Baby". After he was born, I took some of the toys out of her room saying "You've got lots of big-girl toys, and you don't play with these ones. Can Josiah have them instead?" It seems to have worked so far. She's only tried to claim back a couple of toys so far, and we told her that if she wanted a "baby" toy, then we'd swap it for one of her "big kid" toys - like her bike! Jake doesn't realise there is ownership i think. at the moment EVERYTHING is his. We went to a playgroud and he pushed other (older) kids aside to grab their toys. I'm worried about him becoming a bully as he is MUCH bigger than other kids his age. Mum told me all kids go through it so not to worry.

Hey Janine, would Paris understand if you sat down as asked her which toys Ayja could have? I remember something like that on a tv show, although i think the kid was about 6 so easier to reason with. lol i'm thinking more about when she is plkaying and ayja is finally moving enough to be able to get to her.. i think maybe she might end up taking to playing in her room around then

Ayja was 6 months old yesterday.. if she's on tummy she'll sorta go round in circles, and will face dive as well - bringing her legs up under her, but face still smushed on the ground, so if she tries to push forwards she just gets a squashed face.. am sure she'll get it together soon though.

How old is Ayja now? Josiah's making a determined effort to crawl, and in the past week has gone from wriggling and rolling to move around, to last night pulling himself forwards with his arms. LOL, they learn things so fast, ayja has rolled over a couple of times randomly - but today, the wee cheeky girl, .. EVERY time i put her on her tummy, she rolled straight onto her back - didn't even wait till my back was turned - just rolled over and laughed at me and blew raspberries. frustrating cos over the last few days she has been scooting round in circles on her tummy... hopefully it might mean she's crawling my xmas - lolol... i feel so silly but am so excited cos Paris never rolled till she was 14 months, and never crawled at all... so having a baby doing the "normal" things at about the right time makes me so giddy. lololol. sorry, just had to share my excitement.

Arna is a TOTAL copycat!! She has been saying "ta" about 200 times a day since she was about 11 months.

Now she is copying us saying "ta-ta", buh-bye, cool, pretty etc - we only have to say it once and she says it!! Oh and she picked up "s-h-i-t" off me a lil while ago oopsie!!

She knows how to take a pix on the cellphone and send it. And does the whole talking thing...

Han's started saying a few things but to be honest they aren't exactly words. She says "Uh-Oh" whenever she drops or throws something (about 600 times a day, it's driving me slightly batty) and says "Moo". I originally thought she was moo-ing at cows so thought she was quite clever, have now realised she moos at all animals. We'll work on it. Sometimes on the phone she mimics "Hello" but it comes out more like "Ayo". The only other word(?) she says a lot of is "Dat!" which I can only assume codes for "What's that?" and "I want that".
Can't wait until she's actually saying something coherent.
Favourite new sounds is "dad dad dad dad". The child doesn't have a father so I'm not sure what she is going to achieve by that. paris's first word was nana, so mike was very gutted.

Jake says "saishowagu" which is "rock paper scissors" in Japanese, He now calls me "sensei" which I wish he'd stop "and can say bye bye when he feels like it which is rarely. Jacob has started, as of yesterday, saying dad, dad dad, and daddy. Now, I know he dosen't know what it means, but it is very very clear what he is saying, even a stranger at the supermarket commented on it today! little smartypants, I am so gutted, because rod ALWAYS goes dad dad dad to him, and I always go mum mum mum.
