We had to do this in our bathroom and 12 months down the track it's still mould free :)]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=16283">MyMinis</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 7480<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 13 May 2007 at 12:57pm<br /><br />we had that problem in our bathroom in motueka and when i was pregnant had no energy to get up and clean it so it got horrible, it was also shagpile carpeted why they did that i wouldnt know lol, we found it was more the fact that the bathroom was on the coldest side of the house so got next to no sun, this house is the same and i have the window open and dehum going all teh time and it gets mould in it.<br />im not sure if theres anythign oyu cna really do if you have an extracter fan in your bathroom and air it out then it could be something to do with the paint or timber? maybe need to give the bathroom ceiling a fresh coat of bathroom ceiling paint (any nromal paint will just crack and/ or let moisture in).<br />exit mould isnt the nicest smell is it, my MIL cleaned our bathroom with it cause she knew it was really getting to me and when i bought haleigh home from the hospital was greeted to a week of smelly the horrid stuff.]]>

Aparently we had ivy growing in the roof space and that was causing moreproblems than moisture inside the house.]]>

Like even slightly?  i fing that even the slightest texture ont he ceiling seems to encourage mould growth and you can't get rid of it completely -if you think you have, then it will grow back like you say!<br /><br />We are jsut waiting till we can replace the ceiling in our bathroom, its a pretty big and annoying job though so will be well after baby (and probably after I return to work!)]]>

The rest of the house is fine, there's no mould in sight and the towels dry very fast in the bathroom so I don't think it's damp otherwise they would always stay a bit wet.]]>

We lived in the dampest most horrible house last year for 6 month - probably the coldest street in Dunedin, and mold just grew everywhere - ewwwww, so we invested in a dehumidifier and it was just amazing how much moisture it took out of the air (I am talking LITRES a day - from our room alone).  Am pretty sure it was solving our mould issue - although we did move out shortly after, so didn't really get to prove it.<br />ETA- Found its also heaps easier to heat an area if the air is dryer.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by hailstones</span>]]>

It's really annoying because we have an extractor fan and the window has a security thinger on it so the window is left open 24/7 so that it is aired out constantly yet every 6 months we need to kill the mould again.<br /><br />Does anyone have any ideas on how we can get rid of it for good?]]>
