Hi guys. Well that stretch and sweep I had last Tuesday definitely did the trick! I started having mild contractions later that afternoon, by 3:30am they were about 10 minutes apart & by 9:30 on the Wednesday they were 5 minutes apart, so called the midwife about 10:30 & headed into Birthcare. Got there around 11 & I was 8cm dilated so jumped in the pool & laboured in there for a bit, got out when I felt like I needed to push which was about 12:20, my waters broke all over the floor at 12:30 & Isabella Aislyn was born at 12:35. I had about 4 puffs of gas after getting out of the pool, but it was making me feel sick, so flagged it. It was a much faster birth than Matthew's one & I didn't have to have any stitches or anything which was great. Got a bit of a surprise that she was a girl as I was convinced I was having a boy! Thanks susieq, well no more monitor dramas yet, I have heard the beep happen just once this morning, but no full on alarm again, thank god.

Man we had full on visitors here today from 11am till 4pm we had 5 lots of visitors, I will be glad when the visiting dies down just a little as we seem to have people here everyday. I mean its nice that people want to visit, but sometimes it can be a bit much, however, I'm sure I might feel lonely when the visiting does die off, can't win eh??!

I just had to do the housework yesterday, I know everyone says just leave it but as Gabs was born on Saturday and that is normally our housework day the house was already dirty when she came home, so by yesterday which was another whole week I couldn't stand it and just had to clean, don't think I will tell mw though who will tell me off, but I feel okay, just tired by the end of the day that's all. And DH is home for another two weeks, so he can help me with cooking and cleaning etc, which he always has done.

Yeah its pretty freaky alright about the monitor, like I said I will keep an eye on it, in case its her rather than the monitor, but fingers crossed it isn't. She seems fine anyway.

Yeah I think she is adorable, but then I am biased. She loves to get her arms free from her wrap, loves to have one arm straight up and out in front of her when feeding, I call it her supergirl arm as it looks like she wants to go up, up and away. And when she is all dozey and cozey looking after a feed I call her my drunk monkey, I reckon when they are full they just look drunk sometimes.

I've been a bit teary over the last day or two, but I am guessing that's normal hormones, bloody annoying though, just thinking how much I love her can set me off, lol.

Phew Kawww, I'm glad its not just us then, not that I am glad it happened to you too, but it scared me half to death, its like your worse nightmare isn't it. Yeah I will keep an eye on it and next time she is up check where the sensors are. The warning beep has gone off a few times for us and went three times before the main alarm.

Yeah she is a good sleeper, she woke at 11pm last night and then 4am and then 9am, so I got a decent amount of sleep, even if it was broken sleep. Sometimes I am itching for her to wake up just so I can hold her again, lol.

lucky..happened to us too....and he was fine...it freaked me out and the warning beep has gone off twice too....just check you have the sensor in the right place...one time (its gone off twice actually) he had moved away from the sensor(as we only use one until hes in the cot..it scared the crap outta me.

Hi guys

not much activity on here at the moment, I hope Nic and GandT both have their bubs by now.

Everything is going well with us, Gabrielle feeds and sleeps pretty well. This arvo her baby monitor alarm went off though, which really worried me, it stopped before we even got to the door though and she seems to be fine. I am going to talk to the midwife about it when she next comes around on Tuesday, hopefully that will be the only time it goes off, if it happens again I will probably page the midwife straight away.

That's pretty well done getting to 9cm before calling your mw, Lucky!! Hope your arm gets better soon. Sounds like everything went well for you.

I know what you mean, GandT - it's kind of a relief to see you're not the only one still waiting!!

Had my stretch & sweep this morning. Am hoping it will do some good. I've been feeling a bit crampy all day, but nothing major. Have got a form to book a scan for Friday to check everything's ok. If no baby by Monday then my mw wants to discuss induction as an option. Not really keen on that idea though, so hopefully something will happen soon!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Matthew, Kiwi. Can't believe he is 2 already - the time has gone so quickly!! Hi guys

We got home yesterday and thought I would quickly try and get on here before Gabrielle wakes.

I didn't tell any of you but my water broke at 1am on the 29th Feb, but just had mild contractions all day and then at 1.30am on 1/3 I woke up with much stronger contractions, just lay in bed and timed the contractions and tried to breathe through them, by 6.30am they were only about 2-3 mins apart so I woke DH and got him to call mw. She came around and I was already 9cm dilated, so off to women's too late for any pain relief, but I was coping okay and then started pushing about 8.30am, nobody tells you how much hard work that is by the way and how you feel your bowel is going to come out your a*se, and 2 hours or so of pushing later out pops our wee girl. I only got a very minor tear that didn't need stitching, so my labour and birth went very smoothly, my mw was chuffed, she couldn't believe that I had got to 9cm before I called her.

The only downside was that when pushing I was kneeling and leaning heavily on my arms for the whole time and I did something weird to my left arm, so it went all dead on me, so when Gabrielle came out I couldn't even hold her or I would have dropped her, so DH got the first hold instead. That also held us up from transferring as a specialist was supposed to come and see me about my arm as I couldn't even get myself dressed two hours later, but since it was the weekend no one was available at womens to see me and unlikely to see me on the sunday either(typical)so we decided to go to St g's at about 5pm, by then my arm was a little better. Its still getting better but weak, but I did see a physio at St g's and she said it may just take a couple of weeks to come right completely.

Of all the dumba*se things to do.

Its so good to be home with our wee girl (I was almost convinced it was going to be a boy, but I did want a girl) She was an angel last night, late feed at midnight then didn't wake until 6am this morning, but I didn't really sleep well cos I was too excited having her home and I kept listening out for her, cos i was worried I wouldn't hear her wake, or she wasn't breathing or something stupid like that, first night jitters I guess.

Anyway better go, congrats to Tiff, so pleased for her to also managed a natural birth, and all the best GandT and Nic I hope your bubbas come along soon.

I will post some photos when I get a bit more time.

Hi Tiffany's other half here (or should that be third now?)

Things started happening for Tiffany at about 2am and labour was established by 6am and about 8.5hrs later Rohann Grace was finally born at 14:22. I got to help catch her as she was coming out and then cut the cord. Tiffany did an awesome job, Rohann was delivered naturally and Tiffany didn’t have any pain relief. Rohann weighed 9lb 2oz and was 52cm long. Mum and bubs are now back out at Lincoln.

aimee i dont know... my mw knows i dont want an induction this time round and we havent really spoken about it. Initially i did say they can induce on the 11 march but now - even tho i have more than had enough - i want to hold off even longer... my only worry is doing damage to the baby if i dont let them induce ... i have had a fear all thru my pregnancy that the end result is not going to be a baby. despite friends and family saying not to be silly it has been in the mind constantly.

Hmmm I've been thinking the same thing. It's only Lucky myself and one other girl from our antenatal class left to go. All these people having babies that were due after me!

MW visit went well just talked about options etc if baby continues to be late etc. But everything still looking good, baby fine etc and has turned somewhat!! YAY - still slightly posterior but is now on the left side rather than the right which means it's on its way round. MW still reckons I will go naturally which is positive as really don't want to be induced.

Thanks peachy. He had a good birthday - it's amazing how much more into opening presents etc he was yesterday compared to even at Christmas. A few months seems to make all the difference!

Yes, I'm still hanging in there too. Had MW appt yesterday & my wee test showed positive for sugar. So am a bit gutted as thought I'd managed to avoid the diabetes this time around - although in saying that when I had the GD I never had anything show up in my urine test, so could have just been something I'd eaten for lunch maybe. Anyway, bit pointless doing more tests etc now as I'm already due, so just have to watch my diet really strictly until bubba is born. If nothing's happened by my next appt on Tues, MW will do a stretch and sweep to see if she can get things moving. It's her weekend off this weekend, so am hoping I hold on until Monday as the back up midwife is nice, but I'd really prefer my midwife to be there at the birth.

Yeah Tiff I would ring Ave if I was you, I only got details about the course about two days prior to it starting, or you could just turn up to next weeks one, its in the St Nicholas church on the corner of Barrington and Frankleigh Sts and goes from 10.30 - 12.30 on Thursday for the next four weeks.

Yeah Tiff you will either get a text from me or DH will send an email around the antenatal group, or possibly both when it happens, but could be a few days away yet anyway.

So we're all still here then.

I'm with you on the waiting thing now Tiff, I will be happy to get this baby out now and sometimes I do think, hello are you still in there or is it just my imagination. Kiwi - we are going really well here. Greer smiled yesterday for Hannah, was so gorgeous. Now I am working hard to get one too!! We have a great routine running here and she is such a cruisy baby. Both kidlets in bed asleep by 6.30pm, then Greer wakes about 9.30/10 and I have started giving her a bottle of EBM from the morning, then 2ish and 5/6am. So pretty happy with that at the moment. She is starting to get more alert and awake now when she is up, and she is feeding really well. So far so good! Hey Lucky that sounds positive I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!! TMI but I've been quite 'googy' down below myself but I don't think it's a show. I was supposed to see MW today but she wasn't able to come as she was at a birth, so now I'm seeing her Saturday as DH wants to be here aswell. I've been getting heaps of aches and pains today plus some some decent BH they don't hurts but certainly aren't comfortable, but I still feel like s#%@t 'cos all I want is this baby out and I'm starting to feel like it's never gonna happen (which is silly as I'm only 5 days over). Oh well.

I rang my midwife and she said it sounds like a show, which she said is good cos it means my body is getting ready, but it could still be another week or two yet, so not to get my hopes up, but I am quite excited about it as it means something is starting to happen.

I've just been to the first session of a baby and you course, today was on feeding. It was quite interesting actually and a good way to meet other new mums and mums to be. There were only five of us today two preggos and three mums with 6-8 wk olds, so it was a good mix. A couple of the girls from the antenatal group are going to but weren't there today, one had her baby yesterday and the other has been having contractions lately, so not sure if she's had hers or is just uncomfortable and didn't want to come.

I am finding it quite hard to sleep at the moment as i think I get excited about the prospect of having the baby and can't stop thinking about it, last night I had a dream that I was having contractions and labour was starting, I guess its what's on my mind so it makes sense.

Aimee how are things going at yr place with your 2?  It has actually been good that I have to get up and get organised to get Z to school otherwise it would be too easy to stay in my PJS all day

Cant believe our boys are almost 4 weeks KA!! Drew has gone 6 hours straight the last 2 nights which is bliss!  He is really unsettled from around 6.30-9.30 at night but when he does eventually go to sleep its great!!  Hes pretty cruisy during the day too and is starting to focus alot more, Im sure the first smile is coming any day now!  The wind ones are so gorgeous lol cant wait til they are real smiles.
