I'm reading this at the moment. It's my first Jodi Piccoult 'encounter' and man, within the first few pages I was all teary-eyed! I'm not far through it, so I'm guessing it only gets sadder! I like Paullina Simons boooks Lyla. Ive read a few of her books (cnt remember the names lol) really liked the one when a lady is kidnapped when 9mths preg and goes into labour. Ok so its decided, we will read our own books and report back with the sypnopsis and a little review and rate it out of 5 stars.

eg. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

(write review here etc)

Sound okay?

ooh kels i read the da vinci code last month - bought it from the same trader as i bought memiors of a geisha from i have the movie as well. i found it hard to get into, but once i did i really enjoyed it. not sure i would read another of his books, as i found it helped to have the background of the movie in my head IYKWIM?

what part are you up to in keeping faith???

if we all reviewed books i would be trying to read all of them to discuss them. not only am i a terrible bookworm i am so OCD about things like that. and cant stand missing out on a good book.

Im reading The Da Vinci Code at the moment. I have never read it and I havent seen the movie either. So far so good!! Last month I read "Betrayal" I cant remember the name of the author but it was an amazing book about a lady who frames her best friend's 6yr old daughter for doing all these awful things like slashing clothes, stealing etc. It was a true story as well. I'm picking the one I'm reading... Maybe, as an idea for bookclub, we could have a sticky thread and all write a review of a book we have read that month, and discuss with ohthers who have read it. i have lots of jodi picoult books, dh recognises her books easily so i get them for xmas, mothers day and birthday. just dont ever tell him that i find them too sad/deep to reread - so they only ever get read once, unlike all the other books in my library i am just happy that he buys me books!

i actually did really like her latest, 19 minutes. i was reading it at the same time as the last school schooting in america (the college one) so was quite surreal reading about it and hearing about it. got me confused a wee bit sometimes. it was a very absorbing read, as all her books are. but still not sure i could read it again, IYKWIM???

We did it a couple of months ago. Two problems tho, first is that we have trouble deciding on the book (!) and second, last time not many people finished it and it never really got discussed. I like Jodi Picoult. If you haven't already you should read the Tenth Circle. Very good book.
