Yep, takes an age to dry - especially white or black oils for some strange reason.

My 7th form art boards took WEEKS (and still ended up smudged when they got sent away )

I miss painting soooo much!

Be careful with oils, even if they are touch dry, they may not be completely dry - sometimes (depending on how thick the paint is) they can take weeks to dry.

Once completely dry I would use a sealer - mainly as Bee says - it makes it easier to wipe the dust off!!

Mean the painting will look newer longer. If you used oil paints it will take a while to dry.. a couple of days from memory? I think i actually just left mine somewhere and forgot about it, then when I remembered it again it was dry. Lol.

A hairdryer is a godsend! Just make sure you move it around so it doesn't warp the canvas. Canvas soaks up a lot of paint, so it usually takes a while to dry fully. Ok so i decided to get crafty and paint a picture for my sons room. so i got a canvas and some paints and got into yesterday...only today it is still wet.

how long does it take to dry? have i dont something wrong?
