Author: busymum
Subject: 8301
Posted: 15 June 2007 at 10:15pm

I have a sling which I got s/hand off TradeMe for $25

But in answer to your original question, my Briona is almost 2 and we have a three wheeler buggy which we converted to 4 wheeler with toddler seat on the front. Trouble is that Briona is 12.6kg and the toddler seat takes up to 14kg (average 3yo, Hannah is 3 1/2 and 14.8kg). And it's getting a bit tricky to manouver her legs in and out of the toddler seat. Briona prefers to ride than walk, I guess it mostly depends how far you intend walking. I walk around the block each day so a double stroller is great. But if it was just for going up town, I use the sling and the older two walk - mostly so I have two hands free for crossing the road, and my buggy is far too heavy to take in/out the van all the time.

Money aside (which it never is LOL), my preference would be to have a sling for shopping, but a double stroller for walking longish distances (like around the block or to the park, where the baby can stay laying down in the stroller). But it would be nice to have a "cheap" fold-up double stroller that lives in the van too.

She had a couple of buggy's (from her 1st born) which she swapped for 2 different kinds of double strollers and she also trialed a few more from the Baby Factory. I said to her "I would've just used a comfortable front pack and a light stroller from 3+ months (like my MB terrain)? Older sibling would be walking before younger sibling is too old for front pack". She went through all of those buggy's before she ended up doing that!! Simple when it comes from someone else. Hard to know when you are doing it at your own end.
