luckily (i think??) i wasnt working before i got pregnant so it is based on just DHs income and not mine i think that sucks that they include the mothers income when shes clearly not getting that anymore!!

Toni - you can claim for year end so get it 'whole' payment at end of tax year. I looked into Family Assistance last year and said said "congratulations, you qualify for assistance... $5 a month!"

I told them to poke it, it would cost me more to fill out all of the paperwork etc and the stamp!

BUT... I dont get fam assistance...think we worked out that we need 9 kids to qualify!!! I tell ya the govt does not assist us in any way and are now tryyng to cut refund claims for rental props - go figure on that!!!

I don't get mine till I do a stupid tax return and work out my income after expenses. We got a letter saying that we told them the that worng amount that we earn and that we would end up with a bill!

So I rung them to see what was going on and they told me that it was cos hubby has a second job and he was earning like $3000 from them a month pitty that 1) he doesn't work for them and 2) the company is Upper Hutt and we live in Tauranga so getting to work for him must be hard

I just got a letter from IRD 2 days ago telling me I am due for a refund - yippee!!!!! I only worked 6 months of the last financial year though. Ginger my Dh had to pay last year too and hes on a salary.. something about being on secondary tax code.

I got a letter the other day saying what my esimated income for the year should be - which is wayyyyyyy over since it took my pay in consideration from last year which I am not working this year.
