He took about 3 months to understand the peddling, but now LOVES it and uses it everyday. we live in a more rural area so never really needed the pushbar, but my girlfriend who moved from Auckland with her little boy said she used it all the time there, less to push, more to control, especially on the road.

We got ours from winkalotts and it was $129, as opposed to $150 in the store. We are planning to get another for Taine for his birthday. Must admit that the toher boys at playcentre riding bikes kinda "sahowed" Jake how to ride. Jake is also quite tall for his age so could reach the pedals early. Is McKayla tallish?

Edited by lizzle

They are a bit more expensive than others but worth it!

Ethan is nearly five and still rides his to kindy. It has an adjustable size. I.e. the length of the trike can be made longer. Ethan had his from about 1yr 9mnths. and could fit on it. It has a lockable steering wheel (for when he didn't understand the concept of steering himself) so we just pushed him with the adults push bit. The pedals are also freewheeling, which is good if they get out of control and need to put their feet on the ground, the pedal wont "chunk" into their wee legs. They are german made and are of excellent quality....

Have a look here

dont be put off by the price, if you intend on having more kiddies, these will last the distance. Ethans still looks like new nearly 3 years later....

Edited by Bee
