One of the best I've come across for healthy eating habits) - I started little by little cutting down sugar in my drinks, and now I don't even have sugar in coffee. Just by doing that, I eliminated 12-20 teaspoons of sugar a day! I feel much better for it too. I'm still a lollie muncher but I'll usually try and get lollies from the bulk bins (so I only get half a dozen or something), or else from the lollie shop (same thing).

I find that doing my own baking too I get a better idea of what is in something, and I'm less likely to eat more than I should when I've seen all the sugar and butter go into it! I say less likely because ... well ... you know

I try to eat well for all of those reasons Fiona - especially at the mo where I want to be nice and healthy for IVF, and ideally lose a couple of KG (literally - I float around 63-65 now, so if I could float around 60-62 I'd be quite happy). Plus, Mum told me that apparently if you have a high-sugar diet, you tend to have bigger babies So we'll be wanting to avoid that

    Author: FionaS
Subject: 8942
Posted: 09 July 2007 at 3:23pm

Do you want to eat healthier?
- to lose weight?
- to be healthier?
- to save $$$ on takeaways etc
- for other health reasons?
- to help with breastfeeding?

Nup, this is not an infomercial! :)

Maybe we can use this thread to support each other! Since becoming a SAHM I've been consuming more and more junk food. Although weight isn't a factor for me I would like to stop eating so much sugar as the more I eat it the more I need it to keep my energy up. My main problem is 2pm onwards...all I want to do is eat...no amount of protein in the morning, fruit for snacks etc etc seems to help...I have a balanced lunch and then neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed something sweet from a packet! Grrr. I'm also having coffee issues. I never used to have more than 1 cup a day but now I have 3. If I skip one I start to feel really blaaaaaaa and I'd like to cut back down to 1.

Anyone else need some support and encouragement (or a swift kick up the butt) to eat better? Post here and let's help each other out!

Edited by FionaS
