3.5mths here. This was for medical reasons (needed to get more fruit & fibre in her diet as she was badly constipated!)

jack was 6.5-7mths and charli was 5mths. i tried her on some farex rice at 4mths because my mum and sis were telling me she wanted it, i didn't think she was ready....she didn't eat it.

Sienna was 4mths and we started cos she giving us the big puppy dog eyes everytime we ate around her so my theroy was we try it and if she doesn't take it fine we wait and try again.

she wasn't really interested in it but plunket told be before 6 months
Rhyley - 4 months
he was so ready for it trying to take our food (actually got toast out of my mums hand)

Jake about 4 months, and I gave Char her first lot of Farex tonight, and she loved it. I felt a bit sad, sounds stupid, I really really wanted to wait till 6 months, but she seems ready. Plus she has started waking 2 or 3 times a night and she is tiny, under 50% with weight. We started Ollie on solids from 4 months onwards. as Ella is doing so well with sleep etc and no allergies to formula etc we re goign to stick with BM and formula until 6 months and then introduce solids. Plunket of course more than supports me in this one and has set up a schedule of how to introduce them to her from there. If her weight doesnt keep up above 50% I will reconsider it.

Ethan was around 4 months. He was ready...Was still hungry after bottles. he was studying us and making mouth chewing movements when we ate infront of him. Exactly the same with Alize, althou he does go on solid strike when he wont eat any for days. The plunket nurse said this can sometimes happen when they are introduced to solids too early.

Mercedes my 6yr old had solids at 6mths and Lesieli my oldest had them at 2mths. BTW it was suggested by Plunket at the time... I wouldnt follow that advice now,  esp with Allergies Lesieli has had.

Micheal and Jayden were very hungry babies, and Abby just didn't care but wasn't getting enough from milk

My situation is a little different obviously. Ashleigh was 7 months when we started - she had to before she was 8 months or else they develop an aversion to anything but liquid in their mouth? Thats what I was told anyway    Anyway I believe you should start them when it seems they aren't getting enough sustanance from milk and are still looking hungry after a feed. And if she has slept through the night for a while but then starts waking hungry. This is all IMO but if she isn't showing any signs of that then I would wait until 6 months.
