But something else I find interesting is that it's such a big taboo to have said something insulting... sure, it's not cool to insult someone's character or make personal insults or judgements on them, but with sooooo many women on here and the massive big variety in our values, opinions, parenting styles, all that stuff, we're bound to tread on each-other's egos every now and then, aren't we?  I don't know that it's the end of the world when that happens - IMO it's up to the person who feels insulted to either pipe up and say 'that wasn't cool', or shrug it off and not give a toss about it. 

This is a bit of a crack-up of a thread!!  Thanks for starting it then, gandt - it's been an interesting enough read!  While I do think we're not stuck here or anything, so if topics look boring to us or annoying, we don't have to read them, I have been wondering about people's OhBaby habits!!  (ha ha... sooooo the kind of annoying topic you were talking about!  Ah the irony).  Like - do people hop on here when their child(ren) are napping, or when they're up?  Once kids are older and not napping much, do they wait 'till bedtime before geeking on here (I use 'geeking' in the endearing sense BTW), or do the kids play quietly?  I'm cautious about geeking while Ella is up - she demands more of my attention than that, and even though it's not like all her awake time is 'quality time' with her mum I'd feel stink about sitting here at the computer ('cause I think I'd end up ignoring her, and time can really get away on you on a forum... especially when there's juicy stuff being discussed).  But then what about people 'blessed' with a non-napper of a baby?  I mean, surely contact with the outside world is even a bit more important when your baby is high-needs?  So... shall I thread-jack, start a new topic asking about people's personal OhBaby habits (mwah ha ha haaaaaa... sorry Deb!  I'm laughing with you, not at you.  Then again, you mightn't be laughing at all and I might just be giggling to myself cough *NERD* cough), or just keep wondering to myself???  Hmmm... I'll have a thinkie.

The fact that so many of us feel strongly enough about this to have responded should speak volumes.

I personally think this post is unfair and unnecessary. If you read a thread that you dont like, or you think is pointless...IGNORE IT!! This is a community, therefore we all have different opinions, views, questions, comments, thoughts, feedback etc....we dont all have to like the same things or have the same questions.

Let it go...build a bridge....whatever...I dont think its fair to make other people feel bad about asking 'strange or silly' questions or having conversations about topics of THEIR choice!!!

You talk about being grown up - isnt tolerance one of the true signs of being a grown up.

You must have known this was going to start a drama.  And yet you posted anyway.  talk about trying to start a cat fight.

Anyway that is my 2 cent's worth.

Im one of those such posters who can sometimes spend awhile on here posting nothing and evrything (including my post of how do you thread, yep I can be nosey). I enjoying being on here as it is a wealth of information and support as well as the fun/silly stuff. It keeps me company as Im a single mum and somedays dont see other adults to even talk to. I have no friends IRL with Toddlers or babies(except for my new found OB friends) and they all  work fulltime. I dont have any sibling close and no real family around. I get to come on here and share with you all what my children mainly baby is up too since I dont have their dad  around to share with this with.  It is also nice to see im not alone in this mind field of parenting, and my struggles are the same as everyone elses whether they are  married, younger, older etc...!! Keeping it light hearted is good too for the times when RL is ruff and a bit of light relief is needed.
