I think if it's amniotic fluid it should smell sweet, that's how I remember it. If you have thrush this could make you have more discharge. Most people do have quite a bit of discharge, get it checked out however the mucus plug in your cervix and baby's amniotic sac will do a really good job at keeping amniotic fluid in the right place.

I have to wear liners now all the time or I'd go through several pairs of undies a day! Makes sense when you think about it, a good immune response to keep fluids flowing out so that bacteria etc can't go upwards towards baby. I did mention it to my midwife last week and she said quite a bit is normal provided it's not thick white itchy stuff (thrush).

Chonni - I had the same thing when I was pregnant, the 1st time (I was about as far along as you are now), it wasn't much and only happened for a day, when I was tested there wasn't any Amnio fluid present, and MW said it may have been bubs moving down and releasing some fluid to allow it to do so. The 2nd time was when I was 40 weeks, and it felt like I was constantly peeing myself , I was going through at least a pad an hour sometimes and smelt very much like Semen!
I second what Busymum said - it will pool and when you get up you'll feel it! If it's been the same for a couple of days it'll just be ordinary extra discharge which happens in the last couple of months or sometimes even more I notice a huge increase in that stuff (ick) in the last 3 days before due date/labour date (basically the same date for me). If it's your waters leaking, lie down for 1/2 hour or so with a pad on then when you get up it would have collected and will pool into your pad. Otherwise it's just ordinary discharge. Hey Chonni, you can get your MW to do a swab test to find out weather it is amniotic fluid

i have had quite a discharge throughout and feel that mine smells a little like semen too ( not that any semen has got near me in a long time )
