Mikes family are very open.. so much so that mostly it's alot of talking and joking and a fair few off-the-cuff kinda comments.

Ie.. imagine being 17, your boyfriend boarding with his aunty, who obviously put 2 and 2 together the 1st time you stay overnight there.. later that day you go to meet his grandparents with him and to have them make jokes about "finally getting his end away".. omigod talk about wanting the earth to seriously open up and swallow me. Nothing is sacred. I think you have to have a very open mind, definately have learnt not to take things to heart and to laugh about it as a funny subject, not something to be all staunch about.. It's not TMI kinda talk, but definately am happy that they don't have the big family get togethers often and are usually adults only. They keep it relatively clean talk around the kids.

I'm happy to talk about it and i actually think there should be more talk about it. The young ones get in trouble because we dont talk about it enough. Talking about it doesn't make you want to do it. Open and honest, that's what I think.

depends who i am with i guess....a close friend and i can talk about it, people i dont know so well it would depend on what in particular it was about = and since being married I dont have the real personal conversations i used to have...

I think it depends on the individual, if they are comfortable with the person maybe they are seeking advise/help?

I used to be very open about it when I was young and 20. Mostly with fellow 20 somethings who weren't getting any either. Now we are old and retired from the single dating game, with partners/husbands and children. We all know who we're sleeping with each night and the novelty has worn off.

When she finds someone she cares about she wont want to openly discuss it.

Maybe it's the novelty factor? Maybe when the novelty has worn off and sometimes reading Harry Potter, watching a movie or just plain old sleeping seems more attractive than sex then talking about it is also not the amazing topic it once was....

LOL in my younger days me and my friends always ended up on the subject of sex - how do you do, have you done, whats the best etc... I think it was just a way of learning what to do without feeling stink about it. Now being an old hand (LOL yeah DH wishes) don't talk about it unless its to say the lack of need/want of it to know you are not alone.

I've got my 22 year old sister staying with me and she likes to talk about sex. Not in a dirty slapper kind of way and not in front of the kids or anything, but just in a way TMI kinda way that makes me feel a tad uncomfortable.
I've never thought of myself as particularly prudish, but maybe I am? Or am I just getting old and boring? Is it normal to talk about this kinda stuff all the time?
