I'll still be around... and by the time you have your first, my eldest might be 9 or 10 so I'll have a tonne of experience for you

I couple of us see her reguarly, although I haven't spoken to her what with all she's had on in the last week, it's not big drama and to be honest is no big surprise to me.

Surely there is a middle ground though? Only said because I personally really enjoyed Maree's posts and am sad to see her go, I would have liked the chance to say goodbye.

Meh. Doesn't matter now she is gone though huh? And it's true, she is under no obligation to tell anyone why she is leaving and it's better than just never hearing from her again.

She has been around for a while and I can understand people feeling miffed by the short goodbye when so much is shared on this forum and friendships have been made.

Well it's a forum and there are no "rules" as such on how to leave etc.... of course.... but I guess for a lot of us this place is our circle of friends (or one circle of them, for the lucky ones

). And if you were with friends IRL and were going to leave, you'd either bow out or say what was up - and I would find the latter to be more "friend-like" IYGWIM.

I guess I just find it strange as Maree has made a few comments in the past like we don't value her here... and we do! I just would hate for that to be the reason that she has gone

maybe but i think if your going to take the time to say goodbye in the first place and if there is nothing specifically that has made you want to leave you might explain it a bit more. Like if I decided that i just didnt want to be on here anymore, didnt have time etc... I don't agree that it is rude - if someone (generic, not specific) wants to leave I don't think they are particularly obliged to tell us why, and at least they are being courteous enough to say that they *are* leaving - instead of just disappearing off into the sunset and no explanation at all.

I will be dropping in on Maree sometime this week when she gives me the go ahead, seems she is OK and recovering slowly with the help of her hubby (at home for the week).
