Well I guess it's time to farewell this thread.  We all seem to be over in the toddlers section now.  It was a rough first year of Jett's life - but loved it all the same!  I'm looking forward to this next year with Jett learning to walk - and getting to take him to the beach over summer & he can explore his surroundings more.  I am just hoping that his health problems improve and it'll be a thing of the past!

It's been a miserable day here.  Wet, wet and more wet.  Everyone's still down with this cough.  DH is really quite sick, went to the Dr this morning & got some AB's even though the Dr says it's a viral thing.  He can hardly talk, so it's been me with the loud growly voice telling the kids off.  Rico didn't go to school today, but hopefully tomorrow.  It's too much having the 3 kids home all day.  MIL turned up this morning..... i think she came to see Rico off on his first school day, but also arranged an appt in Tga, so she went to that as well.  But I think she's staying the night.  See, I don't know anything.  She never tells me what she's doing - when she's turning up & if she's staying.  I'm seriously getting sick of her unannounced visits.  It would be ok if she was only stay for an hour, but a day & night every week?!?!?!?!  Anyway....

I made a pavlova earlier, and it's almost gone.  Whenever someone walks through the kitchen another slice is eaten.  It's soo yummy!  Oh I hear bubba Jett has woken, rattling his cot.

Hi Kim!  How cute Samara's walking!  Clever girl.  Jett hasn't taken any steps yet, still holding onto furniture & walking around that.  He hasn't stood on his own yet either.

You have a big heart Kandice, so I can tell you do want to make a big deal out of Father's Day, but TBH, does he deserve it this year?  You've had it pretty rough, and you've nearly left him, & had a break at one stage over him not pulling finger, so maybe just something small like Kim said, because typically you'd do something really nice for him.  I don't think you should stoop to his level by making him feel bad for his past behaviour, but a little something from Kylah will still be enough to show how caring you are, and even though he wouldn't win father of the year, you still appreciate the things he does do.

I say go with your heart, and gut instinct!

Me being me, id probably just ignore it and make him see how it feels. But then im a huge grudge holder lol.

Hey everyone

How we all doing?  Our household is down with bad coughs, and Dh has the man flu so of course he's sicker than anyone else.  Rico's started it all with his cough over a week ago.  Now we've all caught it.  I'm wondering if he'll be well enough to start school tomorrow.  I know some kids are there with terribly snotty noses, but the whole class will hear when Rico coughs, it sounds awful.  The teacher commented last week on visits how bad it was, so don't think she'll appreciate me sending him for a whole day coughing around everyone.  It's been sooo cold hasn't it!!!

Go Bella on the standing front, but stink you're sick again Shell!!  And yay for Kylah cutting more teeth.  Hope Briahna's tooth comes through soon Mel, and then she won't be so grumpy for ya.  Jett hasn't had any new teeth in a month or 2.  But he's always knawing on everything.  How is Cooper now, Julie?  Sounds like it's been rough in your household with him not sleeping long.  Jett slept all night on Saturday which was awesome as I was knackered from not sleeping at all Friday night listening to the 3 kids cough.  But then he was back to waking at his usual 3am this morning.

Sooo stink for ya Cat that you missed out on the dog!  That's pretty dumb of the lady to change the arrangements on ya. 

Well I think I hear the washing machine beeping at me to empty it, so better go hang the washing out & put the next load on - fun times for me!!

Briahna is getting alot better on her feet i think. I dont think she will be walking by her birthday but who knows and im not that fussed as shes a menace already lol.

She has been shocking. Shes got another tooth coming through and shes been such a bitch. Shes been throwing big tanties and crying when i say no to her.

Hope this ends soon cause im sick of her being such a grump! But the tooth is so close to cutting thank god!!

Did it rain there today, Cat?  Was fine here today, but hardly any wind, so washing didn't quite get dry.

School visit went well today.  The kids are pretty friendly in Rico's class.  A few seem to think I'm another teacher aide & were always came up with books for me to help them read. 

My thumb feels a lot better today, thanks.  It's still hurts if I knock it, but I can move it around a lot more without cringing.

I'm about to do some baking, as we are heading away tomorrow for a few days, so thought I'd take something homemade for the ride!

So it was Rico's last morning at kindy.  Although I didn't take him til they had mat-time before finishing as he has a bad cough which I think is more asthma, than a virus.  He gave out lollipops to his class and they sang the "Last Day" song to him.  I could've bawled!  But I held back the tears.  Didn't want to freak the kids out!  I gave the teachers a present with a couple of bottles of wine & some chocolates & got Rico to write them a thank you card.  Gia is still going there of course, but they've had Rico there since he was 2 yrs 4 months, so half his life!

Jett only had an hour's sleep this morning was up at 10am, so he was grumpy at the kindy, plus it was his lunchtime.  I'm soooo tired today!  I think I need a nap this afternoon.

We have a dog called Tess, who lives with my dad. Along with my cat, Duff (yes, after the beer from the Simpsons hehe).

When i was really little we had a German Shepherd called Sabre. He was awesome i loved that dog! When he got put down i was intears, i remember taking him to the vet so clearly

We also got a Rotty named Comet but she was a bitch and my parents got rid of her. Evil dog!

Yes, the thumb is still throbbing.  I'm worried I'm going to knock it in my sleep tonight.  I've kept it straight as if I accidentally bend it, it stings!  It was a pretty big slice off the top, I don't think the skin will survive and eventually fall off.

Hmm, I'm not too good with naming pets.  My cat when I was a teenager was called Mambo (it was either that or going to be Mossimo), the family dog I named Tai.  But that's all I've ever managed to come up with!  They were my first & only picks, and the names suited the pet.

She was fine, from what I know anyway.  The programme at kindy atm is on "Jobs" so children can bring their parent/s in to tell the class what their job was and what they do.  So far an ambulance driver came in & the kids got to go through the ambulance & be pretend patients, and today a Policeman came in & the kids got to look through the cop car, so that would've been fun for her.  I said to the teachers when I picked Gia up, that I hope that was the last time she'd ever see the inside of a cop car, lol.  When I told Dh that the policeman went to the kindy, he said he should go in dressed in a hoodie with a spray can, haha (he's a painter, not a tagger).

Aww, poor Cooper & Bella!!  It's horrible having a sick child huh.  Jett always looks like he's been punched in the face cos of the excema around his eye.  It's always red.  It never seems to get better.  I've started cutting out dairy in my diet - not completely but have cut down on my hot drinks and just drink herbal tea instead.  When I tell the Dr about his excema they just prescribe more steriod cream for him.  But I'm wondering if I gave him that formula for kids with allergies (neocate??? or something I've heard of around this forum), if that will help because then he won't be having any dairy in his diet.  Other than my BM, I don't give him dairy. Anyone know much about this?  I tried the other day to go completely dairy free - but my goodness dairy is in pretty much everything!!!

yep I'll stay with him for the next visit on Thursday.  There is a new entrants play area, but he wasn't interested in going there.  I took him there first, and there weren't any other kids playing there.  They all ran out onto the field (I think), I couldn't see many around actually, so he was probably "in their territory" anyway.

I've just sliced the top of my thumb off!!!  OUCH!!!  It's throbbing now.  Thankfully DH was home (he's the "Doctor") so he's plastered it all up for me.  When it's your finger/thumb blood just pours out, and I hate seeing that, so I got all freaked out!  Oh well, there's goes me cooking dinner.  It'll be jar food for Jett, and Dh will have to cook for us.  (Oh, what a shame!) 

No, I haven't tried that Johnson's stuff, cat.  I probably won't either as I've tried soooo many natural products to help with his skin, but it always just makes it worse.  So I've given up and just use the stuff from the Dr's after his bath.

We're back!  Gosh what a day!  Been in & out since 10am.  First off, school visit.  It went really well.  Rico was fine, and the children in his class all seemed inviting & wanting to talk to us. There are 2 cute little girls in his class that kept on say "hi" to Rico.  Awwww!  One boy had snot running down & I was sooo tempted to say "can you go & get a tissue please & wipe your nose", but wasn't sure if it was my place!  Eek, disgusting.  At morning tea he sat with the kids & had his snack, then happily ran off to find the playground.  I was surprised to see what foods the kids were eating for their morning tea; potato chips, biscuits etc and I was hoping they'd have something more filling for their lunches.  I had packed Rico an apple, banana & a muesli bar (all which he'd asked for), none of the other kids had any fruit.  I watched him from a distance playing, and tried not to intervene knowing I'm not going to be there next week & he'll have to stand up for himself, but I guess he'll learn that eventually.   He's so timid and actually too kind for his own good and of course the bigger kids just come along & take over. 

Then I went & met up with my sister in the mall for a quick flat white before going & picking up Gia from Kindy.  Came home, picked up Jett & my mum & we went back to the mall to do some shopping!  I'm exhausted now.  But all kids in bed sleeping so I can relax!

I don't use any baby bath stuff for Jett, just plain water.  His excema is too bad to put soaps of any kind in.  I started off using some when he was newborn, as I love the how it makes babies smell, but once I noticed his dry skin I stopped using it. 

ETA:  I actually felt like I wanted to cry walking into the school with Rico.  He had his bag on his back and was excited to be going, but it was too much seeing my baby all growed up!  I can't believe I'm sending my firstborn to school, it's too surreal!!

Lol i havnt bought a thing for Briahna. Im not getting her much as i know that shes going to be spoilt rotten by my mum and aunty and everyone else (mainly mum and aunty cause the stuff they bough over for christmas for her was ridiculous, they barely had enough room for their stuff and they were staying for 5 weeks! lol!)

Aww SHell, poor Bella!! Briahna gets rashes like that every now and then. I do exactly what your doing lol and hope that it goes and eventually it does!

Not much more on the walking front here. She likes to stand by her self but hasnt ventured out to walk on her own yet.

Eek!!  It's Rico's first school visit at 10am!  Although I am a little excited.  I felt sad for Gia this morning when I dropped her off at Kindy, and she looked a bit lost, with Rico not being there with her.  But she does know the place, and the kids so I'm sure she'll be fine. 

Right time to put Jett down for a nap.

Poor Jett, Cat!  That's a horrible virus, they get uclers in their mouth!  Awful.  Gia had that earlier in the year, she didn't eat for a week it hurt her too much.  It's really contagious too.

Well one kid needs to go to bed, and the other 2 are fluffing around in the toilet when they should be eating dinner!!!  Any excuse to leave the dinner table before they've finished, grrrrr!

lol. Briahna lets me put it on her face and sometimes will go "ahhhhh" into it, but most of the times she trys to wiggle out of it.

She sounds like she is getting alot better. Still wheezy but the inhaler helps. They gave me this little bottle of stuff.. redipred? I am supposed to give it to her every morning for 3 mornings so today was the last one. Cant remember what they said it was or what it was for lol.

Kandice Briahna usually has 2 sleeps one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sometimes she decides she doesnt want 2 sleeps and has one in the middle of the day.

She has about 4 200ml bottles a day too.

Iv got Kylah a outdoor play climbing frame thing.. With a huge pipe to crawl through. A ride on barbie car, a ball pit pool thingy, Iv got heaps of clothes, and im getting some wooden puzzles and a new sippy cup (her one is shyte) also got her a pink bunny from pumpkin patch that has clothes. Oh and a wooden zylaphone (sp) and a bead wooden thingy.. Ummm can anyone say OTT

We had a wonderful night, was really nice! I spent half the night in the spa (It was huge).. and again in the morning lol. Dinner was fab and lunch at the Casino was REALLY good. So flash.

Anyones bubs only having one sleep now? Im finding it so hard to get Kylah to sleep now.. She wont go down for two sleeps but seems overtired by bed time with only one sleep?

What about bottles? How many a day and how much? Kylah still has 4 200ml ones, is that too much?
