Those of you who have been around like forever might remember that a few years ago I wrote a book with some guys from Europe, and Maya and I went to London to work on it.
Well, the German guy (Uwe) and the English guy (Peter) are both down this way and of course Dad has been ranting about his clever grandkids so they wanted to meet up with us.
Thurs morning he rushes me out of the house to take him to work, and we arrive with me looking haphazard and bedraggled and low and behold Uwe is waiting for us and Dad says "lets do coffee." Nice! I looked a right sight, I was so embarrassed, sat there drinking hot chocolate and trying to clean the baby spew off my shirt and simultaneously wipe both gremlin noses while keeping Maya entertained.
As if that wasn't bad enough, I left Auckland at 6am Aust time, sat on a plane for 3 hours with 3 kids, got held up at customs waiting for the freaking stroller and finally got back to Mum and Dad's at 12pm Aust time, and what do you know - Peter is coming for lunch! Again I look haphazard and bedraggled and feel pretty damn shattered! Nice work Dad!
So now the 2 guys who I put on a good impression with in London, and who got my name in print in the book, think I am an absolute flake. Oh happy days!
